Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just when you thought shavers couldn't go anywhere. So I was lucky enough to be selected to test the Philips series 7000 Vacuum Beard Trimmer. On initial inspection, the device had a sleek, ergonomic design, and was finished in a stylish black and blue colouring. I familiarised myself with the instructions, of which both the written information and the diagrams were easy to follow. Charging was extremely simple; merely a matter of connecting the charging cable to the wall and waiting just 1 short hour! On my first use, I trimmed my entire beard using the comb on a 4mm setting. The results were surprisingly satisfying. The blade must have been sharp and well constructed, and the comb precise, as the length of my facial hair was certainly even throughout. Next, I tried without the comb to shape my beard around my sideburns, cheeks and chin. Again, this is very precise and I was happy with the results. I used a razor blade to clean shave the now stubbled area. My partner mentioned that she found the device a little noisy; but one I reminded her this was both a beard trimmer AND a miniature vacuum cleaner, she agreed the product wasn't too bad after all. As for the vacuum function, I tested the device over the sink, as this is where I normally shave, and also thought it would be a good test of how much hair still falls. I was pleaseantly surprised. It's hard to gauge exactly how much hair was captured by the device, but I would have to say at least two thirds to three quarters! Philips do not claim this will capture 100% of hair, so my realistic expectations were met - and more some! In conclusion, I find this product from Philips to be both both effective, and helpful. It certainly relieves a lot of hairs in the sink as apposed to shaving with other beard trimmers, which is a function certainly worth having. I would recommend the product to anyone!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy, light and convienient The first thing I noticed about this product was its design: modern and stylish. Its lightweight feel makes it easy to use with comfort and perfect for travelling. Its multiple trimming lengths make it perfect for any size beard. The shaver also comes with a smaller trimmer for shaving small areas, such as sideburns, which is easy to change. The shave itself is very smooth and perfect for sensitive skin as there is no tugging or cutting. The vacuum is certainly a unique feature which I liked, as there was no need to clean the sink after a shave. The Vacuum was very easy to clean after each shaving, making the whole experience quick and easy compared to a normal shaver. The shaver was surprisingly very quiet, which was an added positive. The packaging was simple and easy to get in to. The charging was quick and the shaver does last a good hour. I would recommend this product and I now look forward to shaving.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great beardtrimmer! This beardtrimmer does an excellent job at collecting all of the hairs that fall. It means I have less mess to clear up in the sink so shortens the overall time taken to trim my beard. Anything that saves me time is a good thing by me. Performance is excellent. The trimmer never fails to trim even the most awkward of hairs which my previous trimmers have always missed. The adjustable settings are activated by turning a dial. Again this means I don't have to carry other heads with me which I have lost in the past when travelling. Having a dial means I can adjust to the desired length quickly and simply. The trimmer charges fully in an hour and provides me about 55 minutes usage on average. The only thing preventing it from reaching a 5 star rating for me is it is a little bit fiddly to empty the vacuum. Not a total deal breaker however as the pros far outweigh this minor niggle.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Does the job, but still a bit messy Used the device twice so far. Few concerns, it is rather bulky and doesn't look `sleek`, I feel the 0.5 setting is cutting longer than I'm used to. And the biggest concern of them all is the `less mess` aspect. Attached are two images of the sink post-shave, one when maintaining a 0.5 stubble around my face and neck (last shaved 3 days prior), the mess is exactly what I would expect and is at a nice minimum. But when it came to maintaining my 5.0 goatee, the mess was fairly standard with any other device. I feel this is largely due to the fact that the higher setting you have, naturally the guard will raise further away leaving more space for the hair to travel to from face to the `vacuum` so we end up with the shown mess. As such I would not recommend this device to anyone outside of a niche market of people who want a short stubble, and minimum clean-up.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cleanest trim I've ever had. Having used the trimmer three times, I can confirm that I am very happy with the trimming capability and vacuum element of this trimmer. The trimmer gives an even shave thanks to the shape of the trimmer head included with the trimmer. Nothing remarkable here, as lots of other trimmers are comparable in this respect. What is very impressive is the amount of hair this manages to capture from my beard trim. I don't have the thickest of beards, and because the hair count may be less than other men, the trimmer was able to capture nearly all hairs from each trimming session, leaving the sink very clean indeed. The only negative I can think of is that I needed to give it a full charge before getting to use it for the first time. I cannot comment on battery life as I have not yet used a full charge (probably a good sign in itself).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very practical. Would recommend to anyone. The shaver is a big upgrade on what I was using before. Very easy to figure it out and start using. Quite self explanatory. I didn't need to read any of the instructions. The multiple length settings at 0.5mm increments are great to help you quickly and easily achieve the look you want. Makes it very easy to maintain a short beard on a daily basis. Gives a very nice even shave every time. The vacuum function is worth paying a bit extra for. Very easy to empty the collection compartment every few uses. Massively reduces mess and saves you having to clean the sink after shaving! My only issue is the plastic heads that you slot on for shaving can be a little fiddly and im worried might break in the near future. Hopefully these are replaceable.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good until the head snaps I’m onto my second set of these beard trimmers and they have been affected by the same fault as the first set: one of the small plastic pegs that keeps the shaving head clipped into the device body has snapped off. I’m struggling to find a replacement attachment from Philips. Other than this design flaw, the product works well and would be otherwise recommended.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product, less mess I got this for my son who is quite pleased with the shaver. The vacuum is great as it does capture probably 90% of his trimmings which greatly reduces the mess left in the sink. The adjustable settings are easy to use by turning the dial. which means you don't have to carry other heads with him which he normally loses. Having a dial means it can adjust to the desired length quickly and easily. Battery power seems good with only a short time required to charge from out of the box and easy to keep clean with the small brush provided. Doesn't come with a carry case which is his only negative about the shaver. Overall, he is pleased with the product as it was very efficient and easy to use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does what it says on the box Great little product, but care is required when fitting the trimmers and guard as the plastic tangs that fit into the head are a bit flimsy and easily broken. Apart from that it’s a great beard trimmer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Much Improved I've been using the QT4075 vacuum beard trimmer for about 4 years now which i have always been happy with. The new 7000 series is very much improved. I received this one around 3 weeks ago and the first thing i noticed is that it captures much more cut hair. It does still drop a little bit but i think that has to be expected. There are plenty of settings for 'closeness of trim' but there seems to be no standardised numbering system so you have to have a bit of a play around when you first get it to see what setting you require. Overall this is a great product and if it is anywhere near as reliable as my old Philips beard trimmer then i will have it for years.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great range of options on this product! I have been using the product regularly and got used to it very quickly. I had longer face hair at the beginning and understandably some of those hairs didn't make it into the vacuum. However, after trimming those the first time and learning to hold the device in the optimum position for cutting and collection there is hardly any mess after a trim. I am impressed by the battery life, depending on how fussy you are when trimming it will easily last a week on one full charge, which is excellent. My only real criticism is that I think a larger cutting head would offer a more even cut across cheeks and neck without the need to go across areas repeatedly.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Used a few times now useless Works wonderfully for the minor number of times I used it. However after only using it a few times it is now completely unable to charge rendering it useless. The only way it will charge is if you, with much force, push the charging cable into the unit itself. As soon as you stop forcing the charger into the device it will stop charging. Not being able to now find the receipt for the warranty I am now down a decent sum of money thanks to the abhorrent design of the product. Will stay away from Philips in the future

Rated 1 out of 5 by from overpriced , flimsy & gimmicky Bought this to replace my old trimmer that after many years of faithful service the battery started to fail. After much research and reading of reviews bought this from Boots. Considering this is supposed to be a premium product I am very disappointed, firstly it is VERY flimsy and you have to take it apart regularly to clean etc, I can see the thin plastic snapping very soon. The shave/ trim is at best indifferent and the vacuum feature is just a waste of time gimmick. It feels uncomfortable in the hand and awkward to use. I have wasted a substantial amount on this. Needless to say I have now replaced it with the new model of my old faithful that cost me less than 50% of the price and is a far better!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This is awsome and tidy I must admit i was sceptical about this shaver with the vaccuum built in bit i very suprised at how much hair this actually collects i would say about 90-95% depending on how brisley tour beard is which is alot easier to use sits in your hand nice and comfortable with the adjustable head which is we'll placed and easily accessible. If i was to point out one thing that got abit tedious is once finished cleaning out the vacuum storage can be fiddley when trying to get into the small nooks and crannies. But overall an excellent shave would totally recommend and buy again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features, easy to use I was surprised at how easy it was to use. There was no irritation when shaving and the adjustable length settings is a great feature. However, my favourite aspect was the integrated vacuum. First time I have used a product with this feature and it was a pleasant surprise, with nearly most of the hair being caught by the vacuum. It saves me time from cleaning up as well as creating minimal mess. The only downside I would say is that removing and fitting the guard is a little fiddly. Overall, I am pleased with the product as it was very efficient and easy to use.
