Philips Azur Performer Plus Steam iron GC4521/87 Steam 50 g/min; 200g steam boost T-ionicGlide soleplate Safety Auto off + Anti-calc 2600 Watts is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 61.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, with just one drawback This iron is a comfortable weight for me. The sole-plate glides easily over the material being ironed. The iron fills easily, comes up to temperature reasonably quickly and it is easy to see the water level. I find the shape of the 'nose' of the iron is very easy to manoeuver round buttons and tricky corners. However when one lifts the iron from its heel and move it into the horizontal to start ironing it takes several seconds for the steam to begin flowing; sometimes a quick 'wiggle' of the iron helps it along. It is not a big problem but it does slow up the ironing process & if you forget, you can find you have ironed a significant area with a hot dry iron rather than steam.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Constantly leaking I have purchased three Philips irons over the last 10 years and this will probably be the last one. The first lasted 5-6 years, the second three before failing internally and tripping the house circuit breakers and this one less than two before constantly leaking and leaving brown stains over the ironing. I am bemused how uk product reviews give this product a high rating while productreviews.au average 1.6/5 - perhaps I received an Australian product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Auto Off Feature is Great Been working very well over the past few months, my favorite feature is the auto-off! Few occasions of forgotten of removing the power plug, it shuts of itself off. Peace of Mind. Must have future for future irons!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent iron quality but flex too short This iron is easy to use and skims over clothes at speed. The first one we had was broken as the sensor that turns it off if not in use was broken. This meant the iron keep turning off every eight minutes. We replaced it under warranty and the new one irons well. The issue is with the length of the flex. I have a large ironing board and the iron only just reached the end of the board as the flex is too short. It needs another foot of flex to be suitable. The length of the flex would put me off buying another which is a shame as the iron is good.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good product though a little expensive. Being ex-military, I demand a good iron capable of producing excellent performance and value for money. Reliability is equally important and as I've previously owned a Philips iron, and several other household products, I know this iron will live up to expectation. My one criticism is that there is only 2m of flex which is too short, as far as I'm concerned, and had I known I would not have bought it. 3m is far more appropriate, particularly if steaming verticle furnishings or garments, as I do not like irioning up against a wall.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed I have only just started using this iron but I have a couple of issues with it, I have put it on max setting with steam but it does not seem very hot and there is no steam unless I press the trigger. Also it is difficult to read the dial which is also quite loose. I also think it switches itself off too quickly. My main issue though is temperature the clothes feel cold just after ironing and no steam. I have checked instructions and I have set everything up correctly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Updated version which is good but some features are poorer A very good Iron as usual from Philips. However the last Iron had to be replaced under guarantee. It lasted twenty one months. The latest replacement, although updated has a shorter cord which makes ironing more difficult. Whilst I was pleased with the cord holder I cannot use it as the cord is too short. The new Iron does not have a plastic jug for filling, the company recommend filling straight from the tap. As I have arthritic hands this is not feasible.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from easy to use but beware Our first requirement for a new iron was the length of the cord, this has 2.5metre cord which has s ideal as we have left and right handed people doing the ironing. The only problem we have found so far is when you pick up the iron, you sometimes move the temperature dial as you are grabbing hold of handle, altering the temperature, although you will hear the dial move but can be annoying. ( maybe I have long fingers!)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb product, and features excellent product for the price..as there is only 2 of us in the house, we do not have a lot of ironing, but what we do have this takes care of it really well, so easy to use and so smooth, glides so freely, no real pressure required to get a quality finish on clothes, bedding etc. Highly recommended especially for the price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good steam iron Takes a good fill of water and produces a good amount of steam. Not been able to clear scale properly. Sometimes a bit 'drippy' from the sole plate. Generally a good, basic steam iron.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent purchase This is my first Philips purchase after years of buying Bosch products. The model I chose is well built if slightly on the heavy side. The length of the electrical lead is just right for my needs. It warms up quickly and I am impressed with how long the reservoir of water lasts. Overall I am very happy with this purchase which I got for a very good price on Amazon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from "My Azur is a Winner for Sure" Having had 5 x Philips AZUR irons in the past and it seems everyone gets better than the last one... This must be to the credit to the R and D team as we may perhaps have the hardest water in the UK and these irons work their Socks Off and Shirts, Trousers, Blouses and Sheets Too... I've tried the rest and Philips makes Ironing much easier for me to use and cannot ask for more.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Excellent when working but overall poor build quality Three months after purchase the spray button was stuck; couldn't use the function anymore. A week later the iron would not heat up as the auto off switch would always kick in (followed all online instruction, still nothing worked). An expensive product that has poor build quality, not what I expect from Philips.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My New Iron I am very pleased with my new iron. It is expensive but well worth the money. it is easy to use and produces a good amount of steam to get the creases out of my ironing. My previous iron was a Philips brand and I would thoroughly recommend this make.
