Rated 4 out of 5 by from Efficient and well designed kettle. This kettle is well designed and allows you to make just one cup if you want saving expensive energy. Easy to fill and lightweight for this type of product. Visual and audible indications to confirm kettle is in operation. Great value with two year warranty included.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great kettle BUT! Bought this kettle due to the energy saving headline, love the fact you can easily see how much water to add. It boils quickly and quietly. But the downside is that after a while it leaks from the base. Now if i'd had the kettle years & years and made hundreds and hundreds of cups of tea I really wouldn't mind too much and i'd just think, time for a new one! But I really haven't had this one all that long! So the energy saving may have saved me a bit of money but i'm now going to have to spend what I saved, plus more on a replacement. A real shame as I really liked this kettle!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is the 3rd kettle of this type I have owned Great kettle. I bought this one because of the ability to boil small amounts of water. I like the energy efficiency. I also like the two year warranty. I would recommend this kettle.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from First one leaked and dodgy switch on second one After about 2.5 years my kettle developed a leak, which Philips do not seem concerned about but I do not think is a decent lifetime for a kettle. It seems that I am not the only person to have this problem. When it wasn't leaking the kettle was actually quite good so I decided to buy another one. However after about 3 days the on/off switch has developed a fault and now only comes on occasionally. It seems like a loose connection. So that will be returned. Up until this kettle I had happily bought Philips products, but never again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent kettle Capable of boiling anything from 1 cup to 1.7 litres. It does it relatively quietly, compared with metal kettles, reliably and quickly. The switch design makes switching on an easy yet satisfyingly positive process which means you rarely, if ever, think you've switched it on when you haven't. The kettle is easy to fill, to see exactly how much water you've put in, easy to lift, pour and keep clean. It's actually the best kettle I've ever owned.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Large capacity, fast boiling, great-looking kettle! A kettle is a kettle, right? Well, no, not always - I've had some pretty ropey, loud and slow kettles, but this Philips is extremely quiet, boils very quickly (and importantly shuts down quickly, too, rather than that interminable wait for the click off) and allows you to boil just a single cup of water, or enough to fill a panful of pasta. It's got a nice, solid feel to it, too. One drawback - it's white plastic, so it can look grubby between cleans, but give it a quick wipe down and it is good-as-new.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great design, easy to use, economical and stable This kettle is so easy to use! It fills easily from the tap without having to open the lid. It sits securely on it's base without any wobble, the switch illuminates when it is in use, and has a positive action. The water level indicators (on both sides for left or right hand viewing) enable the amount of water being boiled to be readily estimated, avoiding heating more water than required, and thereby keeping down my energy usage. I love this kettle, I couldn't have asked for more, and it looks good too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light and functional Takes a few boils to get rid of the new plastic smell/odour. Plastic so kettle is very light and easy to handle. Stable base. Latched lid is easy to open and close. Large handle, water indicator on both sides, hence good for right or left handed users. Flat heating element is easy to clean, just soak overnight with vinegar to remove any lime scale. Mine developed a minor leak but was still within the 2 year warranty. Warranty service was fast and I got a replacement very quickly.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Still smells and tastes plasticy after nearly a year. I have been using this kettle now for nearly a year and it still smells every time I use it and taints the water taste, so much so I have stopped using it. I hate to think what is leeching out of the plastic every time I used it. A friend had the same kettle a year before me and his is OK!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The perfect kitchen kettle I have used this product happily for many years and it has saved me lots in electricity, allowing me never to boil more water than I need at the time. As well as this, it is one of the quietest kettles I have come across, it's not too heavy to hold in one hand, and it's quick to boil. It is also rather stylish, I think. After years of everyday use, I have just replaced this kettle with a brand new one, and that's the best recommendation I can offer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works great - until it leaks! All the positive reviews are right - it's fast, allows a lot or a little amount of water to be boiled, and looks good. However, clearly it has a leak problem, as mentioned by other reviewers, which started in mine at just about 2 years. I must absolutely credit Philips with sending me a replacement within three days, even though it was out of warranty by the time I actually contacted them. So marks lost on design, but brownie points for customer service.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love being able to boil one cup of water Worked brilliantly for several months but recently began to leak - large puddles of water both in the base and under it. I contacted Philips customer services on Tuesday evening, was advised to stop using it immediately and today (Thursday) I received a replacement (upgraded kettle) ...FREE of charge! I am one happy Philips Kettle user! A special thank you to Konrad who was so very helpful and demonstrated excellent customer services skills.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kettle Good appearence, easy to fill and pore out without dripping excellent value, just the right size and works well with the measured cup indications, so you can make a saving on the electricity that you use by useing the cup indication marks. This is a replacement for our last Phillips kettle that my wife unfortunatly placed on the hot plate on stove witch melted the bottom of the kettle,it still worked but began to leak,it had to go.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great kettle but may eventually leak Great kettle. It is fast, can boil just a cup or two, it's quiet compared to all metal kettles; easy to fill through the spout. My kettle is about 4 years old and now leaks. Customer service tell me there are no known issues!! Will I replace it with one the same - probably - as they make so many of them, they must have improved the seal over the years. 4 years daily use out of an inexpensive appliance is probably ok anyway.
