Rated 5 out of 5 by from Philips Sonicare FlexCare+ Rechargeable sonic toothbrush HX6972/10 I have been using a rechargable toothbrush for years and thought they were all much the same. After using the Philips Sonic for the first time I realised how wrong I was. This one has 5 modes and the massage option really stimulates and revitalises the gum areas, combined with an easy start mode that gradually increases the power over the first week to let you get used to the experience. The U.V. sanitiser gives peace of mind that the item you are about to use orally is free from bacteria.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Expensive This was an expensive buy and lasted just 4 years - this might be acceptable to some customers, however I did expect to have longer. I've invested in a similar one again but a much cheaper version in the hope that I still get 4 years worth of use but with a smaller outlay!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So much better than the 'other' brand I'd always been a bit sceptical of the claims of electric toothbrushes; having had 3 (admittedly of another brand) I'd always questioned the endurance, battery life and cleaning claims. This sonic version by Philips is a revelation and not only leaves your teeth feeling incredibly clean, but offers cleaning modes and a head sanitisation function which must significantly reduce the amount of germs your putting in your mouth each day with a normal brush.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not buy this product I have purchased two of these toothbrushes in the past and they both only lasted approx. 2 years. The handle grip stuff comes off after a while (very bad design and material). Then the drive to the brush heads does not transmit drive to the head making the toothbrush useless. Contacted Philips to inform them but the person I spoke with didn't want to know. So I purchased a cheaper sonic toothbrush and it works just as well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from easy to use after initial learning period After using standard tooth brushes for 60 years, then fitted with a complete top bridge and several crowns, my dentist recommended a Sonicare to keep gums and gaps between teeth on bridge healthy. Never had an electric toothbrush so took several days to get used to it and where to put the brush head on and between teeth. Also applying tooth paste before starting with the Sonicare but use brush head before switching on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use, travel charger especially welcome. Great flexibility in usage. This is my second toothbrush of this model. Unfortunately the handle of the first one failed to charge, so I reported it to Philips. I returned the defective handle to Philips (free post) on Tuesday 18 Feb. On Friday 21 Feb I received a brand new Flexcare box containing all the Original Items. If for no other reason than this I will continue to use Philips Sonicare products. They are excellent in every way.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for the job Have been using for 5 years now and the brush has just yesterday retired itself. Bought lower grade replacement this morning. So much better than a manual at reaching the hidden corners.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2nd and best to-date This is my 2nd Philips toothbrush and best yet, love how clean it makes my mouth feel after every brush, it is so easy to use with the added advantage of having a brush sanitizer to keep your toothbrush fresh and clean after ever brush, can't rate this product enough plus added bonus of buying at a great discount from Costco saving me quite a lot compared to other retailers, one very happy lady.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very different to a standard toothbrush The instructions are fairly easy to understand and set-up and use but the Sonicare takes some getting used to compared to a standard toothbrush. I am finding the saliva produced with the small amount of toothpaste used increases as the cycle carries on and dribbles out of my mouth on to my chin which is rather messy, but will try various methods to overcome. Recharging takes longer than expected.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from does what is says on the box This was a replacement for my previous electric toothbrush in all respects my idiosyncratic view is that the Sonicare is a superior product. My only concern at this stage is the robustness of the sanitizer bulb which is not covered by the generous 2 year warranty. After two weeks the bulb now dims on operation and subsequently has developed intermittent flickering, indicating immanent failure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product that does what it says Having suffered from off white teeth and gum disease for a long time, I found that the Sonicare Flexcare toothbrush every effective. My teeth started to whiten up every quickly and the massage routine on the toothbrush helped my gums. As I travel a lot for my employers, having the hard travel case made sure that the toothbrush was safe and protected. I would recommend this toothbrush to all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it Even better than my replacement Sonicare which I had for 5 years and still working, but we wanted an upgrade because it is impossible to tell if the functionality has been compromised by aging. Better cleaning result, maybe due to the more sophisticated head design and more powerful vibration than old model. Also has a new (to me anyway) polish mode. Well made and feels solid.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Third one in five years This is a terrible product. It doesn't last more than eighteen months and Philips lost our toothbrush so we can't even claim under the warranty. Steer clear.
