Philips Sonicare AirFloss Sonicare AirFloss HX8111/12 Rechargeable w/ 1 nozzle is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 128.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Two failures since purchase I am an avid fan of the sonicare tooth brush and so bought the airfloss based on that experience. Although when working it does exactly what is says on the box. The problem is keeping it working for a period of time. My original unit failed after just 4 months, after two weeks waiting Philips Singapore gave me a brand new unit. It has worked for about half the time of the original unit and has now also failed. I cannot be bothered travelling to the Philips service centre, waiting to be seen, explaining it all again, and then waiting while they decide what to do with it. If they just gave me a new one from the shop and sent me on my way, I might consider going back.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Air/water flosser is very efficient I had the flosser for 2 weeks. It works quite well. The only problem I find is that the water/air burst impacts on the side of my tongue, especially near the back teeth of the lower jaw. I wonder if Philips could design a kind of gum shield, which is open on the outside and closed on the inside to shield the tongue. The other problem is slight bleeding of the gum, especially if the flosser nozzle is too close to the gum. Observing the correct positioning of the nozzle is essential by looking in the mirror. It just needs frequent cleaning of the mirror. Overall I am pleased

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Once you get the hang of it, it's easy! Read other reviews about how messy it can be so kept my mouth as closed as possible. Had a few attempts before I got it down to a fine art. Especially for hard to reach back teeth this is wonderful & my teeth are close together so sometimes floss got stuck. My mouth feels so much fresher. I fill the airfloss with water or mouth wash & at my last trip to the dentist in February he said that my teeth were excellent with less plaque, etc so this must be working. Wouldn't be without it now. My mouth feels a much better place - even when I flossed before it never felt this good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful & effective Have had this unit for over 4 years but disappointingly, the battery is now failing to take a charge and only last for 1-2 uses. Otherwise, it does what it's supposed to do better than any other non-professional 'flosser'. Very powerful bust of water/air cleans between teeth really well and removes even stubborn food particles. I suffer from food impaction between several teeth and this works even better than normal dental tape flossing. Fully recommended unless you suffer from bleeding gums where a less powerful alternative might be more appropriate.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A good start I never got into the routine of flossing my teeth but have found that the sonic airfloss is a great alternative. Using it is dead easy, just fill with water or mouthwash, which I prefer, and fire away for extra clean mouth. My dentist told me to keep up the good cleaning routine I had and I didn't need the extra cleaning they like to chuck in last time I went. My only criticism of the airfloss is the design of the fluid reservoir, it's small, easy to fill, but not accurately, and tends to leak if you have it filled right up. Get this right and I would give 5 stars!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The answer for those who hate conventional flossing Up to now I have hated flossing because my teeth are very close together and all but the narrowest floss kept breaking under the strain. This product changes all that by blasting a jet of mouthwash (you can use water) between the teeth from a well designed nozzle. It is thus very quick and easy to use and highly efficient, especially when combined with a soft toothpick session before flossing. I have used this product for six months now and on a recent visit to the hygienist she congratulated me on my flossing. She is a hard taskmistress so that is praise indeed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Five stars all round What a wonderful product. I was having a rather unpleasent procedure recommended to me by my dentist, so I thought I'd give this a try and wow! this really works. Takes a bit of getting used to, but everything new does. I have not looked back since. Gums are healthy and my dental visits less frequent. They now only consist of a light dust and polish rather than full scale and polish. I don't write reviews, but I just have to share this. Coupled with a Philips sonic tooth brush, they make an unbeatable pair. Thank you Philips, a great innovation

Rated 5 out of 5 by from excellent purchase The Philips sonicare airfloss is a great way to keep your teeth and gums really healthy. It is so simple to use and extremely quick. The design of the air floss fits comfortably in your hand and is easy to keep clean. Its so much better than when i used floss as i always found the floss would break or tear. With this product there is none of that and i would definitately recommend this to everyone. Its the best product i have bought in years.I also bought two replacement Nozzles so now my husband can use the airfloss which makes it great value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Having suffered severe pain with an infection on my wisdom tooth my dentist recommended this product and I am so pleased she did. I clean my teeth then use the Airfloss and my teeth feel amazingly clean. This product is so much easier for me to reduce plaque than hand flossing as I have chronic rheumatoid arthritis in both hands. So easy to use, there is a small reservoir which you fill with mouthwash, turn on & press a button & that's it. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product I've tried flossing with normal dental floss and floss sticks but found too time consuming and hard to use on teeth towards the back of the mouth as they are harder to get to. The Air Floss is easy to use and a good solution to usual flossing. Overall it is a simple great product but the only downside is the price. Oh and the bleeding it causes to your gums when you start using it but that is more down to your gums getting used to the flosser. On the plus side if you buy more heads then everyone in your family can use it too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Dental care ....enhancement I bought the product so I could enhance my dental cleaning regime and it's so far so good . My dentist said I needed to improve the cleaning of the gaps in between my teeth i.e. Flossing . I find it difficult to floss using the floss string . So decided to go with the Sonicare product , its early day yet but I can say it does what it says on the box and does it efficiently & gently . Time will tell if it helps my dental hygiene .

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good introduction to flossing but not convinced it replaces old fashioned flossing This is a really good idea well implemented. A jet of water is pushed out to flush out any debris in the gaps between your teeth. The force of the water and air is strong enough to sting your tongue and dislodge any larger sized particles. Hence it works really well as a toothpick. However when compared to normal flossing, it doess not seem to be as efficient - flossing allowing both sides of the tooth to be cleaned. However it is convenient, quick and definitely better than no flossing at all.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quick and easy Very straight forward to use and seems to keep teeth cleaner that before when using dental floss. Will reserve final judgement until my next visit to the dentist. Would prefer a larger fluid reservoir and a low fluid indication. Battery charge impressive and essential as electric toothbrush also needs shaver point to charge. Hope the battery performance does not degrade too much over time. Would hope a dual plug converter could be designed or a multiple docking point for this and toothbrush.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from So Disappointing. This is a fabulous gadget...if it works. I bought one from Amazon and was totally impressed...for seven days. I got a replacement and it lasted three days. I was tempted to try a third one but reading all the reviews, it seems I am far from alone in experiencing the same defect (the water/mouthwash finds its way from the reservoir into the main housing/motor, rendering it useless). As soon as Philips rectifies this design fault, I will be first in the queue to buy another. Come on Philips!
