Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wouldn't return to old iron The azur iron is not at all heavy but still gets through your ironing in no time. Even on a first wash quilt cover the creases ce out with no added pressure on the iron!! Have already recommended the azur iron to friends and family who are totally surprised as they all knew how much I hated ironing

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product was simply fantastic. I found this product to do EXACTLY what it said on the box! I would definitely recommend this product to friends and family. The ease of ironing was fantastic. Ironing made easy, even cotton items from the tumble dryer was not a problem for this iron. The weight of the iron for me was just right.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best iron I've ever used I've only used a handful of irons but this one is hands down far better than the rest. Much better than my old "cheapy" iron. Slightly heavier and bigger but that's not a problem at all it more than makes up for it in its performance and features. So easy to use you really can't go wrong.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Iron This product has made ironing so much quicker for me! Heats up really fast, love the tip for shirts and glides really easily with good weight. The steaming is great and I even use it for hanging garments (although a longer chord would help). Really like the design too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mr I.... HATE ironing. There I said it. I know some find it a therapeutic activity but for me it's a chore i'd rather avoid. I'd much prefer to hang the dry washing straight in the wardrobe and hope for the best, than losing an evening with the iron in hand. But when my work 'upgraded' our uniform from polo shirts that I could get away with not ironing to poor quality white shirts - ironing became a permanent annoyance on my weekly schedule. So when given the chance to try out the Philips Azur Performer Steam Iron GC3819/80 I prayed that it would take away some of the pain of the weekly task - and boy did it deliver. The first thing I noticed was the weight of the iron. While the packaging talked about it being a lightweight product, it was actually heavier than my existing iron. Far from being a negative - the weight is a reassuring sign of the excellent build quality of the Azur and in use, leads to an effortless glide over the garments. The box references the SteamGlide soleplate. I don't have a huge knowledge of ironing plates - but the plate on the Azur is larger enough to help get the job done and as smooth as you like meaning even to an untrained user, you notice the quality. One big tick in the Azur's favour already. One of the big pains of my existing iron is adding water. Iron's are just that bit too big for my sink, and having lost the filler jug probably after my first use, it was impossible to fill without soaking the entire device. But the Azur has a solution. By placing the water fill door on the side, it manoeuvers easily into the sink allowing effortless filling - and the hole is pretty big too, minimising spillage. Check 2. Having never been trained on how to iron #is anyone?# i'll admit i'm no expert in how they work. I find myself incessantly pulling the steam trigger and pressing the sprayer pretending I know what i'm doing and as ever hoping for the best. But with the Azur I find the mystery is somewhat taken away. With the auto steam control, I don't have to keep firing the trigger. The iron does that work for me leaving me only to reach for the trigger for a steam boost on only the most stubborn of creases. A device that does a lot of the work itself ticks all the boxes for me. The Azur is powerful meaning it heats up quick, it controls the steam automatically and also has a self clean function meaning another thing I don't have to worry about. If only it could actually do the ironing itself then i'd be in heaven but to be honest, it's not far off. The final thing I want to mention is the design of the tip of the iron. Having only had to get used to ironing shirts recently, the casualty of my learning curve has been several buttons as I clumsily manoeuvred the iron rapidly over my shirts until I heard the fatal pop of a button flying off. But the design of the Azur, and the 'button groove' on the tip, means Philips have thought hard about this particular hazard, and gives you every chance to avoid such mishaps. Worked so far. So in conclusion - i'm still not a fan of ironing, it's still a chore that I have to endure thanks to my new work shirts. But thanks to Philips and the Azur Performer Steam Iron GC3819/80, it's a job that's a lot less painful than it used to be.
