Philips Shaver series 9000 Wet and dry electric shaver S9031/26 V-Track Precision Blades 8-direction ContourDetect Heads SmartClean System SmartClick precision trimmer with SmartClean System and Aquatec Wet and Dry is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 315.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great features but potential not achieved I've used Philips (even when I lived in the USA) shavers for about 40 years. I bought this one December 2017 as part of a Christmas gift from family. It has never been the same level as my previous RQ1280/22 which is actually still performing well even after 4 or 5 years although obviously it's a bit blunt! I don't need to shave every day thankfully but I need to use this one wet even for my lack of growth. A disappointing performance. The main problem is that the head keeps falling off as I shave which is very annoying. I hardly use the trimmer so you can't blame constant changing for that. To be a bit light hearted about it, I've got to make sure everything is closed up in the bathroom when I do shave! Is there a fix for this at all?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent product but why is there not a cover to protect the cutting blades Good appliance but for the money a guard should be included for the blades

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No ingrown hairs! I'm in love When it comes to shavers I have to be careful, I have sensitive skin that can get annoying, and most of the time the way my hair is cut and grows back is important to stop the ingrown hairs I am prone to. Let me firstly say that if you have sensitive skin this is the shaver for you. I have had no issues using it for the last 2 weeks and it gives me the closest shave I have ever been able to get without my facial hair going funny! The shaver itself is light weight, really quiet and easy to use. It has lasted for a while on one charge. Ease of use is key and this shaver does pick up all my hairs and I am literally done in 10 minutes. No faffing around. You can use it both wet and dry, I prefer wet due to the nature of my skin. The shaver does have a handy little light that comes on when you need to clean the head under water which I found useful. I have literally no complaints with this product. Its now my favorite thing in the bathroom!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Could do better I've used Phillips shavers for over 30 years and bought this one when my previous "top of the range" one died suddenly after about six years service. It's essentially the same design, fits well into your hand, and feels well balanced, and the new heads cut well, but for me it lacks some of the refinements of the previous version including the integral long hair trimmer - you now have to carry a separate (possibly more versatile) attachment and swap the heads over, and in particular the really useful numeric "minutes left" has been replaced by a "guess what two bars means" type display - not really good enough at this premium price. An awful lot of water drains out of the casing after you rinse the heads too, which seems odd and isn't good if you need to pack and go so overall does a reasonable job, but a lot of money for a product that doesn't quite live up to the "most advanced shaver yet" tag.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Performance versus HQ9190/A My previous shaver was HQ9190/A which i had for 9years untill the head frame failed this was the second time but this time i was told this the part was obsolete the rest of the shaver was in perfect order aas an engineer i felt this failure was e design fault where metal run against plastic so as i had the top of the range model before i purchased a model similar the 9000 fits the hand perfectly and the different head runs smoothly against the face the shave is quite good but not equal my old shaver i feel looking atthe heads the old shaver has 3 rows of cutters but the new one has 2 i have repaired the old shaver so i am able to have an accurate comparison olso the cutters dont come to the edge of the head frame so it cant get as close example around the nose area inotice on the head frame metal parts still run against plastic does this mean built in life span?but overall i think the 9000 is as good as you can get today

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent shave and a great gadget I have just gone back to an electric shaver after 5 years of wet shaving. A wet shave definitely lasts longer but this product shaves extremely close and is perfect for me as I don't have a heavy beard growth. I love the design but prefer the old shaver which had numbers to show how much battery life was left. I have used a foil shaver in the past which was extremely noisy and not as comfortable to hold as the Philips shaver. I can shave at 5am knowing that I won't wake anyone up. It is so quiet and lightweight, it's a joy to use. Cleaning is also easy but it's a shame that we can't get the drying setting on the cleaner in the UK. The shaver cuts all the hairs on my neck with ease. Shaving the upper lip can be slightly uncomfortable but makes a great job all the same. All in all this is a well-designed shaver which does an excellent job. I would personally choose a rotary over foil any day. Shop around because many shops have special offers.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Came back after lured away by foil shaver Have used Phillishave before but afraid I was lured away by a top of the range foil shaver. Sadly it did not do the job for me, the shaves were not close and despite shaving longer the results were disappointing. I returned to Phillishave and purchased the new 9000 series. The rotary heads get a really close and it's the nearest thing to a good wet shave. The niggles are few. I don't like the picture only instruction book and the seperate trimmer. I would have opted for the top of the range model but that seemed to come with a beard trimmer, and I don't have a beard. I was also amazed by the significant variation in prices with different retailers.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Diappointing I bought this item as a replacement for my HQ8894 Aquagenic shaver which has a faulty display. The first thing I noticed was that the S9211 is much lighter and not of similar build quality. I have been using it for a couple of months now and feel the results are inferior to my old one. In fact, I just dry shaved with the new one and could still feel a bit of "under-stubble" close to my skin if you get my drift. I then followed with another shave using my old model and the stubble was gone...smooth as a baby's proverbial. My old shaver could be opened and the stubble emptied daily without the need for washing. The new one has to be washed after each use. Finally, the smart clean plus system is enormous and looks like some sort of bedroom aid. It is ugly and will go in the cupboard never to see the light of day.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent bit of kit. I have tried electric shavers before and have been left unimpressed I was however won over by this. my 1 day shave was very easy, I did a dry shave and was surprised with not only how quick but how close it was, I paired it with the Philips oneblade trimmer for perfect results. It feels very light in the hand but very ergonomic to hold and was much quieter in operation that I was expecting. This gave me a much closer shave, I followed the included instructions and it worked a wonder on my face, it did however not work as well on my neck and did leave me itchy for an hour or so after which no longer effects me now I am used to using it. 1 hour charge time offers 50 mins of shaving which is great on the go or on holiday. I found the 3 day shave not as good as the one day each face will be different but I would advise sticking to a one day shave with this product for best results.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Philips 9000 Wet/Dry Shaver. I had this razor as an upgrade to my previous Philips razor and was hopeful that it would be as good as my previous one. Almost straight away I was impressed with the look and feel of the razor. The razor felt comfortable in my hand and the balance and weight was perfect. Once using the razor you could tell that there is an obvious step up in technology. The closeness of the cut was amazing for an electric razor on both a 1 or 3 day shave. Results were just as impressive when using the razor in the wet. It is also worth mentioning the razor head which manoeuvres around the face with ease and it takes much fewer strokes to get a complete shave. Finally the precision trimmer I'd an added bonus and allows you go get a crisp and straight definition. I would totally recommend this razor to anyone in the market for a new razor or as an upgrade to their current one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The series 9000 Shaver is an excellent product well done Philips I have been using Philips shavers for over Twenty years and this is by far the best one. As a dry shaver it works brilliantly cutting closer to the skin and in a quicker time, which you would expect from a new shaver. Using the Series 9000 as a wet shaver takes my shaving to the next level, not quite as close as a true wet shave, yet close enough and smooth enough to be more than happy with the results. I purchase the Series 9000 as part of a promotional deal with the Smart Clean plus System. The Smart Clean System, works exceptionally well and is easy to use, just plugin and press the button. All in all the Philips series 9000 is an excellent, wet and dry electric shaver and with the Smart Clean Plus makes for a first-rate product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You Won't find a Better electric shaver for your money! Having previously had two shavers in the same price bracket from other brands only to be left disappointed, I wasn't holding out much hope for the switch to the 9000 from Philips. However I have never used such a great shaver! The shave is lovely and smooth, leaves your skin feeling great and not at all irritated, something I am prone to from other shavers. Works well wet or dry as it says on the tin. The Precision trimmer is a very handy attachment, this is perfect for getting that fresh and well groomed look. I should also mention that it is super quick to use for those that shave every morning or just generally in a rush this is perfect. No running over the same spots trying to pick up left over hairs. If you are considering purchasing one I urge you to not hesitate for one more minute! You won't find a better shaver on the market!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best shaver I have ever had Initially I thought I'd bought a dud. The shaver is amazingly quiet but the shave in the first few days was below the par of the previous shaver I had had (arcitec). I'd heard somewhere that you need to leave time to train your beard to the shaver so persisted. After 3 weeks, the shave is the best I've ever achieved. Did I mention it was quiet. I'm staggered how quiet. I flirted with a another leading brand of shaver which is the noisiest shaver I have ever had. Both whilst using the shaver and it's cleaning station, you pretty much needed to leave the room (difficult when you're the one needing the shave). The shave from the 9000 is better than the alternative (for me anyway) and it's very discrete. All in all, I'm extremely pleased I splashed out on what is a pretty expensive shaver.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shaver I upgraded to this shaver from another Philips model, and I am not disappointed, still gives a very close smooth shave using the wet or dry method. The only reason that I gave 4 stars for the design is that to use the trimmer you have to change the heads to use it, on my older model the trimmer was attached and made it so much more convenient and easier to use, but having said that ,as long as you keep the trimmer close by it takes seconds to change.
