Philips AquaTouch wet & dry electric shaver with precision trimmer S5420/06 MultiPrecision blade system 45 min cordless use/1 hr charge Precision trimmer with Aquatec Wet and Dry is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 396.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Satisfaction from Shaver Comfortable and easy to use. A good shave is possible when using shaving foam rather than Gell which appears to clog the blades. Circular movement when shaving ensures a closer shave. Full charge lasts for about 7/8 shaves. Convenient one-hour charge. The shaver requires to be kept clean by rinsing in running water. Dry thoroughly after each use and lubricated periodically.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replace my old shaver This shaver was on offer for Christmas and so I thought I would upgrade my old shaver of many years. I was not not disappointed the cut with new blades was excellent and easy to cut around my beard. If I have any comments it would be that it did not come with a carry case which was standard on my old shaver!, I was lucky that the new shaver did fit my old case.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good but could be better. Excited to get a new shaver,I charged it up,not very long, using the shaver wet I shaved as usual, realising that the head is larger than my previous Philips one(8240) and does not follow the same contours, this also means that it is bigger in the hand as well, therefore less easy to guide round the bendy bitz under chin etc so therefore missing bits as it did today,I had my shirt on by then etc and had to doo under the chin again!! however I will keep trying to find the best way to get a perfect? shave either wet or dry.other features I have not used yet,but are similar to the old one.Cleaning is easy by rinsing under the tap and drying off.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not the greatest Philips shaver i have owned. Nice to hold and use if you use it every day, but miss a day or two and it's nowhere near as comfortable as my old Philips/nivea shaver, I would have gone back to that one but the cutters/foils were absolutely ridiculously priced, and the old ones were damaged. This one rips the hairs out and having to traverse the same skin area several times to shave properly, it aggravates the skin, feels like a very cheap and inefficient set of blades have been fitted, just glad I didn't go for the most expensive one, gone down in my estimation. Are there any better cutters/foils available?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant Not having used an electric shaver for about 15 years my wife bought me one for my birthday. I think she was fed up with me moaning every time I cut myself shaving. I was amazed how they have improved over the years, it’s great being able to have a wet shave with an electric shaver and to use it for around 3 weeks on one charge.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed with the performance of this shaver. After many year years of shaving with a disposable razor I purchased this Phillips 5000 series electric shaver but have stopped using it as it was not giving me a good shave. After using this electric shaver my face still felt rough as if I hadn't had a shave, so I have reverted back to using a disposable razor.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It works well A really good shaver with a good battery life and a close cut. My only suggestion relates to the design of the on/off switch which for my hands would benefit from being recessed as whilst shaving I tend to click it off. As with life, I have adjusted my grip to alleviate the issue but I would prefer it recessed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One hour charge great Ihave had 4 Philips razors in my lifetime up to now ,they were all good ,but this one is fantastic,it is the closest shave that I have had with a electric razor.and when you have finished shaving a light flashes to say rinse under the water tap ,you touch a button and the cutting blades spring up and you can see the hairs that have been taken off just rinse under the tap and it is all clean and ready to go. Love it and Ihave strong grey hair 73 years old .I really recommend this product

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fair for the price I haven't given this product full marks as it doesn't measure up to some of the other Philips models. For example, the on/off switch is positioned where you are likely to hold on to the razor and therefore switches it off. To use the trimmer, requires having to remove the rotary heads and then replacing with the clipper attachment. Other models do not require this as they are built in on the back of the razors. On the plus side, it does give a good shave wet or dry eventually!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant Bought this present for my hubby and he loves it. It is the first electrical shaver he has had and it gives a better, smoother cut than any razor blade. He charged the battery on Christmas day and has not had to charge it again since and he uses it at least every other day. The design is good and it is very easy to clean. My husband would definitely recommend this product. It was a bit pricey, but I got it when it was on offer for half price. I don't think I would have paid full whack for it as many others come with a lot more gadgets, but great value for the price paid and would definitely buy again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Only one gripe The 5000 is a very god product. The battery life far surpasses the stated life. I get a month of everyday shaving inbetween charges. The only moan i have is that there is no travel case. I travel quite a bit and for the cost I assumed it would include a travel case. Quite disappointing

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than expected I needed new razor blades but decided to give a wet or dry shaver a go instead. Having used a Phillips rotary razor in the past I bought the 5240. Very impressed both with wet and dry shaving and the quietness of the shaver. Would have liked a case but would still recommend the shaver.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellant design I have always bought Phillips shavers this wet and dry is easy to hold does an excellent shave and what a wonderful idea to be able to take the head off and rinse under the tap much more hygenic than just using a brush design is great so overall a great buy delighted with my purchase

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Close shave The shaver is lightweight and easily works around the contours of your face. The battery last a good while between charges but the trimmer has to be fitted when the shaver head is removed rather than an inter grated device. A suitable case to store the shaver would have been good.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from NOT THE BEST I purchased this having had a number of Philips rotary razors previously, thinking it would be a better model. Very disappointed with the Dry mode I found it to drag and very poor shave. I have not had an wet electric shaver before. I found it to be much better than I expected. The one really bad point is the on off switch it is in a very bad position and turned it off numerous time during shave. Overall in my opinion not a particular good model and I would not recommend.
