Why is there milk left in the SENSEO milk container?

It is normal that there is some milk left in the milk container after use of your Senseo. If there is more milk left behind than usual, please see notes and tips below to fix this.

If there is more milk left behind in the milk container than usual, this may have several causes. Please check all possible causes with your machine.

Milk container is filled beyond the required level

Make sure you fill the milk container to the required level for one or two cups of cappuccino.

Milk used is not cold enough

If the milk temperature is above 8°C, the machine uses less milk. Make sure you use cold milk straight from the refrigerator (5-8°C).

Milk container is dirty

Improper cleaning of the milk container has an effect on the froth quality and the amount of milk that is being used. Always make sure that after the last use of the day, all parts of the milk container unit are cleaned thoroughly. Make sure that all parts on the milk container that can be opened are opened and all detachable parts are detached during cleaning.

The lid of the container is not placed properly

Make sure the lid is properly connected at the front and back.

The milk tube is not connected properly

Make sure you push the milk tube far enough onto the connector so that the holes in the connector are covered.
