My Philips AquaTrio Vacuum Cleaner stops working after ten seconds

    Published on 2022-06-08

If your Philips AquaTrio stops working after ten seconds, this can have several causes. Check all possible causes and solutions in this article.

The information in this article only applies to AquaTrio model (not to AquaTrio Pro and AquaTrio 9000 series)

Fill the clean water tank with water and make sure the dirty water tank is empty.

Sometimes the lid appears to be properly closed, while in reality, it isn't. Make sure it is closed properly.

Closing the lid of the mopping nozzle
This system has been designed to recognise when a foreign object other than dirt or liquid is picked up from the floor. When the system is activated, it stops the mopping brushes immediately to prevent damage to the object and appliance. Also, the AquaTrio no longer applies water to the floor.

When the Active Protection System of your Philips AquaTrio has been activated, the brushes do not rotate and no water is applied to the floor.

To reset the Active Protection System:
    1. Switch off the appliance and pull the plug out of the wall socket.
    2. Open the mopping nozzle lid, remove the mopping brush cover and take out the object.
    3. If the active protection system was activated because the mopping brushes are too wet, remove the mopping brushes and squeeze them over the sink.
    4. Place the dry mopping brushes back into the appliance.
    5. Replace the mopping brush cover and close the mopping nozzle lid. Press the mopping nozzle lid to lock it ('click').
    Play Pause

When you use your Philips AquaTrio for the first time, it might be the case that the hose inside the appliance is not yet filled with water. In this case, when you switch on your appliance, the tank full/tank empty light flashes and the appliance switches off again.

If this happens, try to switch on your appliance continuously until the tank full/tank empty light stays off and your appliance stays on. When the light stays off and your Philips AquaTrio has been running for about 30 seconds, water will be applied to the floor.
