When the time has come to descale your Philips steamer, a light will start to flash. When this happens, please follow the descaling instructions below:
When and how should I descale my Philips steamer?
Step 1:
Fill the water tank with white vinegar (8% acetic acid) up to the maximum level. Do not use any other kind of descaler.
Step 2:
Put the drip tray, the steaming bowls and the soup/rice bowl on the base properly.
Step 3:
Put the lid on top of the soup/rice bowl.
Step 4:
Put the plug in the wall socket.
Step 5:
Press the menu button for carrots and the + button to let the appliance operate for 25 minutes.
Note: If the vinegar starts to boil over the edge of the base, unplug the steamer and reduce the amount of vinegar.
Step 6:
When the steamer switches to the keep warm function after 25 minutes, unplug it and let the vinegar cool down completely. Empty the water tank afterwards.
Step 7:
Rinse the water tank with cold water several times.
Note: Repeat the procedure if there is still some scale in the water tank.
