My Philips Lumea does not flash immediately after I press the flash button.
The ready-to-flash indicator should always be switched on before you can release a light pulse. After giving a light pulse, the device needs to reload in order to give the next light pulse.
You can track the reload status with the white ready-to-flash indicator lighting up. When the light is at its brightest, the device is ready to emit a new flash. This takes up to 2 seconds. With some practice you will find the right timing.
Besides that, skin contact needs to be good in order to prevent the device from being able to flash in the air. You may need to try holding the device in different positions to get good skin contact, especially on bony areas such as knees and shinbones.
