Good iron, but some design flaws (now sorted)
We've had this steam generator iron now for over 2 years and it has had constant use. It works as you would expect and irons and steams efficiently. Some operational issues arose during our ownership however:
The unit occasionally trips the RCB in our consumer unit. No idea why, but we have identified the iron as the cause. There seems to be nothing wrong with the iron, so this is a mystery.
You do require to clean the tank out more frequently than the manual suggests. This may be due to our water hardness and as we can't fill it with our softened supply, this may be useful to know for other users in a hard water area. The water tank - we had to replace 3 (expensive!). Now the design and plastic material has changed, this has been fixed. The original brittle polycarbonate units cracked and leaked but the new polypropylene material is far better (the colour is nicer too...).

Excellent value for money
I have been using steam generator irons for the last 10 years and this is my 2nd Phillips. The unit does everything it says on the box, heats up quickly and is very easy to use, the only slight glitch is the steam button sometimes gets stuck but its not a major problem. If you hate ironing get one of these you'll power through your ironing pile in no time.
