Ironing couldn't be easierI bought this iron to replace an older Philips steam generator and I wish I'd done it sooner. I find the automatic heat sensor to be really reliable although I wish there was a facility to add extra heat for stubborn creases in pure cotton shirts, etc.
I am delighted!

Ironing problems solved! It's great to be able to iron without changing dials . Soon got used to it, though, probably because I rarely remembered to do it! I think this iron will be a godsend and the cost will be recuperated in reduced damage and fewer regular iron purchases.
Gives a really smooth finish and removes all levels of creases.

Continuous filling is a great featureSteam supply excellent, and the continuous fill is a godsend as I have a lot of ironing 5 hours at a time. I had a professional ironing system that has expired and this is nearly as good. My old system enabled me to iron on any fabric as the plate did not get hot.

Would prefer manual heat settingI love steam generator irons. This is about my 5th I think and the first with automatic heat adjuster. Whilst you can go from nylon to linen in one move, you also have no control over the heat output. I ironed a shirt today and I was unable to completely remove the creases. I am considering returning the iron to the store and 'downgrading' to a Philips iron with a manual dial so I am in control. I would have preferred it if the iron had an override button, allowing me to select a higher heat when needed. If it had that feature, I would give it 5 stars but without that, the performance isn't as good as my previous iron. Also has the occasional leaking of dirty water onto newly washed items. All steam generator irons seem to do that. Would be good if this could be resolved by the manufacturers.

Takes the pressure out of ironingIroning is probably my least favourite household task. I was very sceptical about the ability of a new iron to change this, but on the strength of a recommendation from a friend I gave this product a chance. I have to take it back, this iron really has made a significant difference. It is easy to use, the iron itself is light weight so you don't get tired. I was amazed at the ease with which you can switch fabrics - literally everything from delicate silk to hard linens and it was virtually effortless. Yes I did really try going from silk to linen with no hitches and no water marking on the silk, the linen was even crease free! You don't have any settings to adjust, you just iron. I have even tried it out on hanging fabrics and even that works.
The reservoir is a great size and meant I could do over a weeks worth of ironing with no refills.
