Froth milk in this frother and you'll get a layer of very dense creamy foam, the consistency of soft whipped egg whites, above a layer of liquid milk.
That's exactly what you need for cappuccino, but it's useless for latte. For latte you need a smooth microfoam, like a mousse, and the milk should not be separated.
Other frothers I've tried have made latte-style foam, or have had two different settings so you could have both. I don't drink cappuccino so this frother is pretty useless for me and was a waste of money
