Rated 1 out of 5 by nigelico recharge unreliable
Didn't notice any improvement in mood, but after limited use the recharge took longer and longer to charge, eventually after less than six months overall use it stopped working altogether.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Nick82 Disappointing build quality for price
This Philips HF3330 has worked well to help with SAD effects, but I have been disappointed by build quality. I only bought this unit at Christmas 2009 and already two of the blue LEDs have failed - and considering the manual states that the LEDs should have a lifetime of up to 50 years at half an hour a day (I've only used it a few times a week at 30 mins and hardly in the summer), it's pretty poor to see two of them already dead. Also the light has been looked after and not abused in any way.
I've tried to see if I can get the unit repaired through the Philips service page but it says that they don't repair this particular unit and only offer a 30% discount on a new one?? This isn't good considering the cost of the unit in the first place.

It's to early to say definitively that this product is working as I've only been using it for a few days, but I do feel better after using the light and if I forget to use it then I really miss it.
The product itself is a delight to hold. It feels well designed. It looks great. It feels solid. Initially this does feel a little expensive to buy, but once you hold it and feel the quality you know your money has been well spent.
Everything about this product gets top marks. I love that it has a very bright touch screen and that it has an alarm clock built in. Very handy. The built in stand that is held on with magnetism and works and grips the unit through magnetism is pure quality. It even comes in a high quality felt pouch.
A very classy product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Nickster22 will not hold a charge
I purchased this product new but stupidly did so through ebay. I unrwapped it (since it had not been opened) only to find that it will not hold a charge. There are no replacement batteries available. Again it was never unwrapped previously but now I have spent (less than direct purchase) but a large amount of money on something that cannot be used.
It seemed very promising but I have no idea what to do next.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Simondo78 Great concept, terrible reliability
The goLITE BLUE is designed to aid sufferers of SAD, or the "winter blues". And for me, it really did work - it made a massive difference to my overall mood, and left me feeling far more positive about life. However, as great as the concept of this product is, its reliability is very poor. After just 11 months - and bear in mind this is far from a cheaply priced product - the power adapter failed. Would Philips replace it? No. They would only offer me a refund, which is pretty ridiculous. So overall, I'd definitely recommend blue light therapy for those who suffer from SAD and/or depression. But I wouldn't recommend buying a Philips-branded product.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Anty Way over priced for 60 LED's
Anyone paying over the odds for this product would need their head looking at when you can get 10,000 lux white lights for a quarter the price, lights that have been tested for years and undoubtably work. By the way I borrowed the golite from a friend for 6 weeks.
I love the design and portability but am not convinced on the blue light, it's not like a summers day that I'm aware of, to be honest it's a little bit of a depressing light, high setting is to bright and next lowest setting is slightly to low. I compare this to my 10,000 lux white light and the mood lifting effect of the white light is obvious to anyone in the room, it's like sunlight, it includes the full spectrum of light including blue light. Switch the blue LED's on and it's like, well, a load of blue LED's. Combining the 10,000 lux white light and the blue light was very interesting and did give the effect of a summers day with a clear blue sky.
In my book white light is the winner in every way and for the price the Golite Blu is nothing short of making fun of S.A.D suffers. In conclusion if the Golite Blu is simply way way over priced, at a reasonable price it's worth a go but you are better off with a 10,000 lux white light at the current price of the Golite.
Hope this helps
