I love this device. Its now over 5 years old and still working really well.
I only came to the Philips website to see if there was a new model, in case I ever need to replace it.

Purchased as a Christmas gift for me 2 yrs ago, the clock now works intermittently, when the digital lighting at the front decides to display it is still at the correct time! then it clicks off.
Alarm not working ...
Quite an expensive alarm clock then :(
Will steer clear of Philips products ....

Rated 5 out of 5 by natasha85 This product is a revelation in waking up
It makes such a nice change to be gently stirred from your sleep rather than abruptly by some awful shriek, its an added bonus that you can also phase in the light to help aid a gentle awakening. The design is one I wasn't sure about at first but it has definatly grown on us and has a very tactile feel about it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Anon123 Good dawn simulator let down by the clumsy controls
Dawn simulation Works really well and takes the edge off winter mornings. Having a radio is bonus. However the buttons to control the light brightness / radio volume and station are all too clumsy. Also the radio does not have an auto search function which can be a real pain.

Rated 3 out of 5 by DaveH61 Great product with some design flaws
I really want to love this product but it makes it difficult... Although it works as advertised it suffers from a few glaring design faults:
1) You have to remember to switch the alarm back on every day. Surely there should be a global setting for alarm on/off and if it's ON then the alarm goes off everyday... I've overslept many times as a result of this.
2) The light is controlled by a roller wheel which is great for adjusting the intensity but not so great when you have to push it to turn the light on or off. The problem is that the light isn't heavy enough so pushing on the switch just cause the whole lamp to slide around on my bedside table. Therefore you need to use both hands to tun the lift on or off - annoying when you're lying in bed...
3) To snooze the alarm you have to flick a small toggle switch located on the right hand edge of the lamp near the bottom - again not very easy to find when you're groping about first thing in the morning. The whole top of the light is flat and could easily operate as a big button to snooze the alarm.
4) Not enough natural sounds. There's 4 sounds: birds (good) a buzzer (not very natural), African Jungle (drums!) or wind chimes (OK)

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ginns Great product - works as advertised!
Very pleased with the functionality and effectiveness of the product - the 20 levels of illumination are sufficiently graduated so that you can set the alarm to reach a comfortable level of brightness instead of having to get up to the glare of a normal bedside lamp or main room light.

A bit of an ugly design but does the job of waking me up in the winter months.
