I also bought the HR1366 and this unit failed after only a years light use.
It's been in the back of a kitchen cupboard for another year and decided to get the spare part. Let's hope the design has been improved since I first purchased. Proof will be in the pudding!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Househusband Connect motor unit HR3932 - breaks too easily
I bought a Philips HR1366 hand mixer just over a year ago for about £40. Recently the attachment that joins the motor to the chopper broke, and the replacement cost is about £15. When you look at the design, it depends on a tiny spline which simply stripped as you ran the motor. Its impossible to repair, so a replacement is the only option. I cook a lot, so unless the design has changed, I expect this will become an annual ritual. Next time maybe I will simply buy a better hand blender.
