Rated 1 out of 5 by Sallyf Faulty unit?
I have been perservering with this product for 2 years. And I can honestly say I have seen no improvement. I am also a perfect candidate as I have pale skin and dark hairs. I expected to see similar comments here but as I don't maybe I have a faulty unit. Either way, an expensive waste of time. And now I am off to get laser hair removal as that does work..

Rated 2 out of 5 by 12345hill Stops working after guarantee period
Stops working after guarantee period and Philips do not repair. With hair still regrowing after 2 years it does not do exactly as advertised and now if I want to continue use to attempt to gain permanent hair loss then I have to rebuy it for hundreds of pounds. Not really value for money if it's not working as advertised

Rated 1 out of 5 by Verified Reviewer Battery problem - your money is then wasted
Left the unit aside for a few months. I went to charge it and it wont charge. I asked Phillips for help. They were not helpful at all. So all the money I spent was totally wasted. These units are expensive and not something you just want to throw away.

I have had this product for a couple of years. Use it every couple of months. It is really effective. It doesn't get rid of hair but certainly really slows regrowth, making it patchier and the hair thinner. (But that may be because I have PCOS)
All was fantastic until I went to charge it up, suddenly it doesn't work anymore and can't be repaired.
It's a really expensive item but I justified buying it as the laser is guaranteed for 100000 flashes, meaning I wouldn't have to pay my beauty therapist a fortune for courses of treatment. Unfortunately the battery isn't up to even a quarter of the 100000 flashes.
Really disappointed Philips.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Janu2004 Philips Lumea Precision Plus is an non-repairable product
Used the product less than 15 times and it stopped charging. Contacted the after sales and I was told "Philips Lumea Precision Plus is an non-repairable product" without even checking it. Could be a known fault.
If I knew this is a non-repairable product I would purchase another brand which is at a fraction of the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by spacehopqueen Bye bye stubble rash
As a quite hairy dark haired and pale skinned woman I have suffered for decades with stubble rash and ingrown hairs. My bikini line was always bumpy and red and due to daily shaving my armpits were always itchy. I gave up using an epilator because it was do painful and left me with masses of ingrown hairs.
For my 50th burthday last year I treated myself to the Lumea. By the time I went on holiday 4 months later I was pretty much hair-free and completely bump-free. I felt fantasic in a bikini with my now smooth thighs.
I noticed results after the frst couple of uses and now use the Lumea about once a month. I never have to shave my armpits in between but maybe still need to shave a few hairs ffom my legs but they are much less coarse then before.
I use the Lumea on the highest setting without discomfort. Occasionally, in more sensitive areas, I experience the slight sting described in other reviews hut this is bearable compared to the pain of epilation - and I certainly wouldn't have used my epilator in all of the sensitive areas where I now use the Lumea.
This product has definitely changed my life and I wish it had been around when I was younger.

I have been using this for over a year now and can definately see a difference in my "under arm hair", it is lessening and I only need to shave with a razor alternative weeks. It is a little bit time consuming and would like to see something with a larger treatment area, the window is quite small and doing your legs takes a little time. I am pleased with my purchase and will continue to use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Joanne The best product I have ever bought
Finally no more bikini rash - in growing hairs or that horrible unsexy hairy feeling.
Brilliant elsewhere too - I have very strong, thick and fast growing hair - I now shave every couple of weeks - as opposed to daily and that's only because I run and have bare legs.
