Hidden light
The light that a luminaire gives off is the focus. Light should be functional first. Once a room is illuminated, light can be used secondarily, to emphasize details and give accents. Often Arcitone’s light streams out the luminaire from an hidden light source, emphasizing the light effect and not the source. Quality of light is a must.

Eye-for-detail
Architectural style demands high-tech in every way, from a minimalistic look and feel, to any unobtrusive details. Subtle controls integrated in the luminaire are just one example, but essential.

Colors
In Arcitone, we focus on one color only or combine two colors at most. The color palette is restricted to greys from light to anthracite, and neutral hues, like whites. Our colors get their depth thanks to the raw materials that give them structure and nuance.

We use industrial, familiar and established materials. The finishing of Arcitone is structured, raw, deep yet refined reflecting the true quality of the collection.

What is Kelvin?

To classify the different types of white light, the term "color temperature" is applied. This color temperature is measured in Kelvin (K). The lower the Kelvin number; the warmer the color temperature (more yellow-red). Alternatively, the higher the number, the cooler the color temperature (more white-blue). Warm white light is standard to create a cozy atmosphere at homes.

Philips Arcitone luminaires are dimmable which means that you can adjust the light intensity can be adjusted with a dimmer switch helping you to create the right light effect and ambiance in your interior. The luminaires can be dimmed by the use of an external trailing edge dimmer (not included in the product box). What is Color Rendering Index?

The Color Render Index (CRI) is a quantitative measure of the ability of a light source to reproduce the colors of various objects accurately in comparison with an ideal or natural light source. Arcitone offers a good CRI of 85.

What is Lumen?

Lumen is an unit to measure the amount of light projected by a light source. The higher de value the more light projected. Arcitone LED pucks of 7.5W watt project a light output of 350 LM, which is equivalent to a 40 Watt incandescent.
