Philips Ice cream maker HR2304/70 20 W 1.0 l Powerful cooling system
great small icecream maker
decided to buy after struggling with poor results on previous machine. liked the idea of being able to store freezer discs in freezer (thereby fitting in drawer and allowing option to make two batches in one day). works well and uses much eless space. product also has better churning (previous product used to get stuck and leave ring of very cold icy ice cream around th edge). this porduct has never stuck and made good icecream several time. main weakness is getting used to the right time to take the ice cream out. you need to wait until volume increasesa lot and ice cream is really cold.

Worse than useless
This product has only been used twice successfully as the third time the paddles would not turn

Excellent ice cream maker
I've had this ice cream maker for about 3 years and love it. It's really easy to use, the recipe booklet is good and it's so easy to use. I love the fact you only have a fairly small disc to freeze not an entire bowl. The only thing I would say against it is that it's all plastic and could get broken easily especially the paddle but mine is fine after 3 years of use. I love it!

Excellent ice cream maker for home use.
This product is still performing well although the paddle broke soon after I got it. I investigated the replacement part and found that the cost of postage would double it's cost and decided to repair the one I had with superglue (so far so good). Why can I not just go to a shop and buy the part? It would be an improvement if it was more robustly made, but this is my only criticism.
Incidentally, there is no information on how to make soft/hard ice cream. It just seems to make one kind.

Great value and simple to use
OK - so this is a very simple machine - but it works fine!
If you haven't made your own ice cream this is a great introduction to the art. Much more expensive machines have built-in fridges - this one has a bowl which you have to prefreeze in the fridge, but once you have done that (and it does need 24 hrs) than everything is easy.
Make up the 'sauce' with whatever fruit etc you are using (there is a comprehensive book of recipes provided) and in an hour you have up to a litre of the most delicious ice cream! Not recommended for those on diets if you use lots of cream but you can always make sorbets and keep the sugar content down!

Works really well
Has been used regularly since being bought and produces some of the best ice cream we have eaten.

Won't let u down!
if you keep the cooling bowl in the freezer for longer periods and ensure that your ice-cream mixture is thick, the ice-cream maker won't let you down!

Avoid at all cost!
This costly machine (£49.99 is just the starting price with added postage = £54.99).
The instruction leaflet is incorrect: there is no 'soft ice cream' button. The ice cream leaflet included is very limited and all ice cream just tastes like whipped flavoured cream - so slightly strange not great at all in the slightest.
All timings are vague because it actually takes more like an hour to make. Maybe in a lab with all the ingredients virtually frozen it takes less time, but in the reality of your kitchen and fridge to ice-cream maker - an hour. Avoid this product - just go and buy some Ben & Jerry's. Save £54.99 and a large machine to put somewhere ...
