Never leave home without this one !
Perfect device for small meetings, ultra portable and good price- performance ratio. It certainly has the potential for becoming a winner !

Good size, easy to use and fits the bill for a highly portable projector.
Bought to get around the need to carry a full size digital projector for presentations, the projector does meet the requirement. The picture size is fine, but some of the colours seem a little harsh, and there is some loss of definition of edge detail. Hence the '4 star' awarded. Very easy to use straight out of the box, and required no setting up.

problem with uneven lighting on one side of screen
Nice little unit. but have to agree with Chrish. There is uneven light from the projector. The right side of the screen is light and the contrast on this side is very poor. If users can not see this fault then you probably think this is projecting in HD. It isn't . It has a design fault that the second and the third unit also had. Have returned the projector and looking at the Sam---- model.

Essy to use - good for small groups
There's a problem with the way it handles a numbering system. If your photos are numbered in sequence : 1,2,3, etc, then it shows them in the wrong order because it orders them differently. It looks at the first digit first, so it goes 1,11,12,13, ...18,19, 2, 20, 21 ...28,29, 3, 31, 32 etc.. So, if you use the Windows automatic numbering system, you have to go in and manually renumber themm all to 01,02,03, etc.. Very annoying. Photoshop does the same.

A good buy !
Having read previous reviews I wonder what some people were trying or what kit they were using.
What is this about darkened rooms? How else do you watch a video?
Picture quality is very crisp and clear and of a very good brightness,
In fact I had to reduce brightness to level 4 !
Sound is as you would expect from such a small device, so why not use external speakers. A good quality pair of PC speakers is all you need.
To all the detractors . . . . make the kit work for you !

SECOND UNIT AND SAME FAULT
Any one who has purchased a Philips 80 lumen pico projector:- Black out the room and project an image that is predominantly black. (like a scene from the film Alien) and yes, you now see that the right hand side of the image is not black. It is so light you can not see the image on the projector screen. It would appear that the LED inside this unit is causing some kind of internal reflection which results in the image being projected so that half the image is brighter. Black does not project as black on the right hand side of the screen. this unit is the second unit . The first hand exactly the same problem with uneven illumination. the first unit was returned as the HDMI socket fell inside having detached from the inside board. I think Philips need to take a closer look at this device that they have made for them by Sagem. There are better quality projectors from other manufacturers at only a slightly higher price. Once Philips have sorted out the reflection problem it would be a good device.
