If you’re a keen reader of this page then you may have noticed that we’re quite excited about a new film called Mansome that takes a lighthearted look at what it means to be a man in the 21st century.

Mansome is all about the freedom men have today to express themselves in whatever way they choose to, which is kind of what our whole blog is about. Here are a few reasons why we’re looking forward to seeing the film.

Today we celebrate St George, England’s patron saint, and we at Philips UK are certain of one thing: Englishmen have helped define the path for male grooming across the world over the last five hundred years.

While some of our national heroes may have preferred the clean shaven look – Churchill and Nelson, for example – others have made their mark on history through their world famous facial hair, making them instantly recognisable everywhere.

Male body hair is a tricky topic. Some women may like their men particularly hairy all over (so do check personal preferences before taking drastic action), however, and I feel I am speaking for the majority of my gender when I say, that most women like it at a minimum.
