Plymouth, UK - With the aid of Philips’ innovative catalyst conversion programme, Derriford Hospital recently upgraded an aging Philips neuro-interventional X-ray system to a state-of-the-art Allura Xper FD20/10 with all the latest software and functionality. This represents the second such system upgraded by the hospital this year using Philips’ catalyst conversion programme.
Philips’ interventional X-ray systems are designed to ensure a productive long-term investment and in the case of Derriford the conversion will extend the life of the system for approximately ten years. With the programme, it is possible to add brand-new imaging and software capabilities, simply and affordably, avoiding the need for extensive pre-installation enabling works and reducing equipment installation time. The financial outlay for the hospital is also considerably less.
The Philips Allura Xper platform promotes efficient workflow, integrating all relevant information. It allows the user to control all functions at the tableside and simplifies tasks with its personalised user interface. It also comes with new advanced visualisation tools including Allura 3 RA, FD rotational angio and XperCT to give a clear view of vessel morphology. XperCT provides CT-like imaging in the neuro suite that enables clinicians to assess soft tissue, bone structures and other body structures before, during or after an interventional procedure. Dynamic 3D roadmap and XperGuide give Live 3D guidance capabilities that provide enhanced clinical insight and navigation for tortuous vasculature.
