London, UK – Recognising The Kings Fund’s invaluable work in driving health care improvement, Philips is delighted to be joining its prestigious Corporate Partnership programme from September 2012. This builds on Philips current Corporate Supporter membership which it has held during the past two years.
As a long standing supporter of the valuable work of The King’s Fund, Philips has sponsored major events including the Fund’s Annual Conference in 2010 & 11, as well as the International Congress on Telehealth & Telecare in 2011 & 12.
From September 2012, Philips joined the exclusive Corporate Partner programme, which is limited to no more than five businesses, and, together with The King’s Fund, will develop a programme of joint activity around areas of mutual interest to support the Fund’s mission of improving health & health care.
Through a series of joint discussion events, Philips will share its insights with the Fund to understand how it can help meet the growing demands on the healthcare system. This will draw upon its expertise in the areas of lighting and consumer lifestyle as well as its heritage as a healthcare company.
“As a leader in health care for over 100 years, we are dedicated to understanding the challenges care providers and patients face every day. We believe that our expertise in prevention, diagnosis, treatment, monitoring and management of conditions can help lead the current evolution in healthcare to improve people’s quality of life at the same time as addressing the need for a more sustainable and efficient cost of care. We are, therefore, delighted to be supporting The Kings Fund as a Corporate Partner, with the common goal of improving healthcare for people whether it be in their own homes or in the hospital setting.” said Neil Mesher, Managing Director, Philips Healthcare, UK and Ireland.
Professor Chris Ham, Chief Executive of The King’s Fund stated
“We are pleased to welcome Philips as a Corporate Partner of The King’s Fund, joining a small group of health organisations. The King's Fund works with organisations, including our Corporate Partners, to understand and improve health and social care nationally.
