Troubleshooting

My SENSEO® Latte Duo does not froth well

The milk foam of your SENSEO® Latte Duo can reduce over time. Try these possible causes and solutions to solve the issue yourself.

Not enough milk

Make sure there is enough milk in the carton or jug, to prevent steam from coming out of the milk spout and reducing the milk foam quality.

Not using the right milk

Always use fresh chilled milk. We recommend semi-skimmed fresh cow's milk to get the best milk foam.

The milk spout is not properly reassembled

Follow these steps to correctly reassemble all parts of the milk spout:

  1. Place the small lid back on the frothing system
  2. Place the inside part back into the frothing system
  3. Close the spring to lock the two parts together
  4. Place the frothing system in the bottom part of the milk spout
  5. Place the top part of the milk spout back onto the bottom part

Make sure that the milk tube is well connected to the milk spout and that the tube is placed in the milk carton or jug.

Reassemble the SENSEO® Latte Duo milk spout

The milk spout is polluted

For consistently good frothing results, it is important to clean the milk spout and milk tube regularly. The milk spout of your SENSEO® Latte Duo can be disassembled completely, which allows you to
remove all milk residues from it. Note: Make sure to correctly assemble the milk spout after cleaning.

You can find detailed instructions in the user manual that came with your SENSEO® Latte Duo.

The milk you used was not cold enough

Your coffee machine only produces good milk froth when you use cold milk.
We advise you to use semi-skimmed cow’s milk that comes straight from the fridge and has a temperature between 5-8 degrees Celsius.

Tip: Put the milk back into the fridge immediately after use to make sure that it is cold enough for your next coffee speciality with milk.

You may have used another type of milk other than cow’s milk

Do not use any other kinds of milk other than cow’s milk (e.g. rice milk or soy milk), as these kinds of milk do not produce high-quality milk froth.
To get the best quality milk froth, we advise you to use semi-skimmed cow’s milk.
