Sonicare UV Brush Head Sanitiser

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the UV light shine through the Philips Sanitiser?

When you have a Philips Sonicare Sanitiser you might wonder if the light can be seen through the device while in use. And if there are any potential hazards.

The Philips Sonicare Sanitiser is safe

A blue light indicates that the Sanitiser is working. The auto shut-off feature stops the cycle after 10 minutes, but will also stop if the Sanitiser door is opened during the cycle.

Automatic protection

While UV is a naturally occurring light (sunlight, for instance, generates UV light), in large doses it can be harmful. Exposure is only harmful if occurring for extended periods. The automatic shut off when the door is open protects against any leakage of the UV light, and safeguards against any misuse of the product. The bulb is further encased in a metal jacket that makes sure any bulb breakage is contained.
