My Philips PerfectDraft beer tap makes a noise

Your Philips PerfectDraft may make a noise while being used. This does not have to be indicative of an error or malfunction.

The appliance makes a soft and continuous noise

Because the appliance chills constantly, the fan works continuously. This is normal.

The appliance makes a somewhat louder sound

The pump may come on while you are pouring beer in order to maintain the right pressure. This is normal. When you are not pouring beer, the pump will also come on every now and then to keep the appliance at the right pressure.

The appliance makes a hissing sound

Make sure that the tap unit is placed correctly. Put the tap unit onto the connection top of the keg by pushing it down firmly ('CLICK' fig.1). If you snap the tap unit onto the keg correctly, it fits nicely between the two keg chimes.

Reinstall the tube by sliding it into the tap unit and pushing it down until you hear a 'click'.

If you can move the arm of the connection top freely up and down, the tap unit is placed properly on the keg (fig.2).
