Does Philips surge protector protect against lightning?

    Published on 2017-08-24

A surge protector protects against lightning strikes in the neighborhood. The voltage peaks on the power grid due to the strike will be captured by the surge protector, as long as they are within its specification. A direct lightning strike will most probably exceed the specification of the surge protector and damage the surge protector along with the connected equipment. In such a case you can use the Connected Equipment Warranty (CEW).
