No; this is impossible while a DVD remains in the tray of the recorder. If you want to copy a DVD to the hard disk, you need to use a SCART cable to connect an external DVD player to the EXT 2 socket of the DVD recorder. Note: copy protected discs will not be copied to the hard disk.
