    Can I clean the filters and pre-filter of my Philips Air Purifier?

    If your Philips Air Purifier does not remove odours or smells as expected, read the article below for possible causes and solutions.

    My Philips Air Purifier contains standalone filters

    You can clean or wash the pre-filter (indicated as C in the image below).

    The other filters (indicated as A and B in the image below) cannot be washed: they need to be replaced. Please check your user manual to see replacement indications specific to your model.

    My Philips Air Purifier contains a layered filter(s)

    The pre-filter is the filter surface (indicated as D in the image below) of a layered filter. When the filter cleaning alert (Figure 1) is displayed on the screen, clean the filter surface with a vacuum cleaner. When the filter replacement alert (Figure 2) is displayed on the screen, it’s time to replace the filter. Please check your user manual to see replacement indications specific to your model.  
    Note: There is no filter cleaning alert on some Philips Air Purifiers. Please follow the cleaning schedule and instructions in the user manual specific to your model.
     

    My Philips Air Purifier contains both a layered filter and pre-filter (for AC3680 only)

    The information below applies only to model AC3680.
    When activating the automatic floating-hair collection system of the AC3680, the scraper will work to remove the pet hair/fur captured by the pre-filter. You can also clean the pre-filter (indicated as A in the below image) and the surface of the layered filter (indicated as B in the below image) with a vacuum cleaner when need be.
    Note: There is no filter cleaning alert on some Philips Air Purifiers. Please follow the cleaning schedule and instructions in the user manual specific to your model.
