    How to install satellite channels

    Published on 2018-01-04

    Situation

Channels have to be (re)installed in the following situations:
    • During the first installation of the TV
    • When one or more channels are missing
    • When switching to a different provider or signal type

    Checklist

    Ensure that:
    • A DVB-S signal is received by the TV (no set-top box is used)
    • All cables are firmly connected
    • The TV has an internal DVB-S tuner (to verify specifications of the TV on the Support webpage, click here
    to find the leaflet)
Note: If the television has no DVB-S tuner, a set-top box is needed to view satellite channels.

    1. Connect the satellite cable

Connect the satellite cable to the “SAT 1” port on the TV.

    2. Start satellite installation

To install TV channels directly onto the TV, proceed as follows:
    • Press the “Settings” button on the remote control of the TV and select:
    • [Satellite installation] > [Search for channels] > [Start now] > [From a sorted package] press “OK”
    Or
[All settings] > [Satellite installation] > [Search for satellite] > [Start now] > [Reinstall channels] > [From a sorted package] press “OK”.
    • Select [Reinstall] and press “OK”.
    • Select [Start] or [Settings] if several satellites, multi-switches or several subscribers are connected.
    • In “Settings”, different configuration types can be changed as required. Proceed as follows:

Connection type "1 Satellite (Single LNB)"

Press the “Green” button on the remote control of the TV to start the installation.

Connection type "2 Satellite (DiSEqC Mini)"

Press the “Green” button on the remote control of the TV to start the installation.

Connection type "2 Satellite (DiSEqC 1.0)"

Match the “DiSEqC” LNB to the correct satellite name. Press the “Green” button on the remote control of the TV to start installation. (Contact a satellite technician for support on satellite reception)

Check which option to select on the manual or label of the DiSEqC Switch. When in doubt, try the setting DiSEqC 1.0 (3-4 LNBs). Please note that the TV only supports DiSEqC Mini and 1.0.

Connection type "Unicable for 1 satellite"

    Unicable
Use these steps if the provider specifically mentions the satellite uses unicable.
A unicable system (EN50494) can connect either one or two satellites using only one cable.
    • Press the “Home” button on the remote control of the TV and select:
[Setup] > [Search for satellite] > [Install channels] > [Settings] > [Connection type]
    • Choose and confirm the matching option:
    [Unicable for 1 satellite]
    [Unicable for 2 satellites]
The television will now display a list of user bands (UBs):
    UB0, UB1, UB2, UB3, UB4, UB5, UB6, UB7
If the provider uses a user band range between UB1 and UB8, please subtract 1 to match the UB numbering on the TV.
    • Choose a user band (UB) and press the “OK” button.
    • Enter the user-band-frequency given by the cable service provider (xxxx.xxx MHz). It should be within the following range:
    Minimum frequency: 0950.000
    Maximum frequency: 2150.000
    • Press “OK” to start the satellite search.

    3. Wait while the TV installs channels

    • The TV will now search for channels on the selected satellite(s). The installation takes approximately 10-15 minutes for each satellite. A progress bar shows the status of the installation.

    4. Finish the installation

After all channels have been installed, the next message appears: “Installation finished”.
    • Select [Done] and press the “OK” button on the remote control.

    5. Finished!

The satellite channels are now available on the TV.
