good tv
very good tv. Nearly need sunglasses to watch. HD is very HD. This tv is at it's best when watching nature movies. Very slow reaction of the remote control. Even worse when on internet. WiFi or LAN, No difference. For that matter, maybe they should have installed a operating system like windows or such. When i wanted to access my movie library,I got an email from my account admin.that someone had accessed my account on "Opera" with "Linux" system.Yeah, supported by another laptop it works great, but that's not what the brochure says. It needs two persons to re-locate. Really thought there was everything inside. Why only Netflix? Are those boys having "Jaccuzzi contracts"?

Picture quality excellent
Have had this TV since January this year and experience nothing but problems virtually everyday. It is very slow to react on the remote control. You have to be careful not to press the buttons too quick as it gets confused and stops doing anything. The program guide is very badly designed especially the background colour being shades of red/orange swirls. When you are moving from channel to channel or time to time it is very difficult to see where you are as it does not change colour. For visually impaired people or those with other sight issues it is absolutely rubbish. Previous TV that was from one of the top manufacturers had a brilliant program guide. You could view an entire evenings programs on one page without having to scroll back and forth. The channels were along the top of the page and the times down the left hand side that made it very easy to select for recording. The Philips has the times across the top and the channels down the LH side. If you want to see what is on at say 9pm on every channel it does not stay in the same place and as the times vary on each channel it is very frustrating to use. The Smart TV is also very slow. When selecting an app or something the screen going back to the TV program, it then goes white or black and then the page selected appears. You cannot watch videos on a web page like Auto Express when they do car reviews. You cannot also watch BT sport as the TV software is not compatible with Microsoft Silverlight. Tried to get on You Tube but that was another disaster. Had the engineers out twice due to it malfunctioning and going into, what they call, 'digital lockout'. If this is the best Philips can produce for price they charge then they should go back to the drawing board and start again. Before doing this they should look at what the competitions designs and take notes. The digital received is very good as it pics up not only the Mendip transmitter but Westward and even the South of England but the quality is not very good. The channel update is also very good. Putting the channels in the order that you want is a bit time consuming but that is the norm for most TV. It seems to go awry when there is a software update and until this has been done things don't work as they should.
