Great performance and excellent build
I am a big fan of Philips TVs having previously owned the excellent 7000 series from 2013. I purchased the 55PUS8602 in May 2018, the price having dropped markedly (it has since dropped even further from the same retailer). The TV is easy to setup and is very well built; it oozes quality from the bezel frame finish, to the integral sound bar, fancy lit Philips logo on the front of the set and sturdy remote control (with keyboard on the reverse). The performance of the TV is very good. I am a great lover of Ambilight which really adds to the viewing experience, making the picture more immersive and easier on the eye. The overall picture is very good for a TV of this price. It has plenty of settings to fine tune for individual tastes. One of the best features is the HDR upscaling for normal pictures, which is my view works very well. This makes the picture really stunning at times. Blacks are very deep, probably helped by the quantum dot technology. Motion from the P5 processor is extremely good too. The sound is also very good for a flat screen TV with the sound bar really helping. My only real complaint is the android menu is a bit slow and cumbersome and there is no ITV Hub or More4 (only BBC iPlayer is available). Viewing angles also aren't perfect. Overall an excellent TV with a really good picture and great build.

Still learning
A huge step up in size and quality and so much to learn, but I am slowly getting to use facilities, in between daily viewing of a brilliant picture. Runs fine through my STB, but I shall switch to native mode once I have installed a new HDD this weekend, to enable recording and pause which are essential to my viewing style. The pleasure is also uplifted by finding that my purchase is now priced at £350 more than when I bought the set not long after it came to market in England.
