Small but perfectly formed
Philips Blu-ray (and DVD) players have always been underrated, but I don't know why! They play every format I throw at them, upscale DVDs as well as things costing three-times as much and are the perfect example of the company's 'sense and simplicity' policy, as anyone can use them.
They also have what I consider an essential but often overlooked feature, disc resume! Even when you take the disc out, the Philips remembers the position you were in, in about the last four discs it's played, including Blu-rays!
The 2930 is tiny! It's about the size of 2 Blu-ray cases side by side and comes with a remote to match that fits nicely in the hand, but the best bit is that they still managed to squeeze a front panel display in (something I consider essential).
It doesn't have much in the way of connections (HDMI and Digital Audio Out), but most amplifiers should be fine with those, and it's not Smart or 3D, but if you want a simple and neat BD Player, this should be a contender.
