Stylish and powerfulBought this docking system for my home to use with the iPod. What can I say have been hugely impressed. Not only does it look really stylish but it very simple to use as well. I don't play my music so loud that the neighbours are rocking to it but with this system you could. If I play it loud enough to hear in another room the sound is still crystal clear. Excellent

very stylish looking systemthis system is very smart, the screen has a lot of information displayed on such a small screen.Set up was a doddle soon as I switched on & positioned the aerial it found dab & fm stations very quickly, tested cd player great sound has extra base if required. The i.pod fitting is very easy to use as it sit's up when opened making it very easy to fit i.pod or phone.I didn't expect such a good system at the price I paid ,would recommend this to anyone.

Good sound qualityI bought this system as it is very compact and I havn't a lot of room. It has a good sound quality on the DAB radio and when playing a CD. The only problem is the FM signal is not much good as it crackles badly and you can't connect a booster ariel to it.

iPod Nano 5th generation is *not* compatibleSame problem as reported by other customers here and elsewhere. Contrary to the official product description, my iPod Nano 5th generation is not compatible.
My iPod Nano 5th generation, software version 1.0.2, which is listed as supported in the instructions leaflet, cannot play on this docking system. I receive error: 'Accessory not supported'.
"Using the 3.5mm cable supplied with the unit to connect your iPod via the audio-in connection instead", as suggested by Philips, is impractical since the iPod has to rely on its own charging capacity if you use it this way. The iPod will not play either using the USB connection, so there is no way to get around the problem really.

Great looks and terrific soundThis is a good looking and compact unit with great sound. I had no problems setting it up but saving radio channels was a bit fiddly.
Some people are critical of the display but my set is away from the window and it is clear and easy to read. Much better than my old dab radio which has a poor display.
Sound quality for cd and dab is excellent. Even fm is not too bad. My local radio station is not yet digital so I listen on fm - very clear sound with just a hint of background hiss. Some other stations are worse.
I tried the usb connection by preparing a play list of old rock and pop tracks on the computer and copying them to a usb stick. This plays remarkably well on the Philips considering the variable source quality.

Excellent sound with DAB Radio transmissions. An excellent, value for money item let down by a very poor display panel. The performance of the radio when tuned to DAB transmissions is excellent and CD play-back is very good. I found the display panel to be very poor and in bright daylight extremely difficult to read. This made setting up the DAB pre-sets very awkward and in fact, having managed to find my favourite station I have given up on using the pre-sets. The displays on other DAB radios in the house are by far and away much better than the display used by Philips on this unit and it is a shame that an otherwise excellent product is so badly let down.
