I never loved ironing until now!Getting the iron; When I first got the iron I was pleasantly surprised that the look and design was even better than I had expected. (The image was purple but I received a black iron with rose gold detailing- beautiful!)
I had a look at the instructions which included images showing how to use the iron. A written description under the images could be helpful, but the iron is so easy to use it was pretty self explanatory. You just fill it with water (there is a max line which I missed at first) and you’re ready to go.
Use: I was very cautious as first because I couldn’t believe that I could iron any material without any heat settings.
My first task was to iron on a patch to a jumper. I did this without using steam (which could have been risky because the steam is what makes sure things don’t burn) but it worked perfectly!
For everything else I had the steam ON.
Next, I ironed some jeans, perfect.
Then on to more delicate items all of which were fine after being ironed and came out lovely.
Then came my grandad’s fancy dress costume which was a 100% polyester suit and I couldn’t believe how well it came out!
My nans costume had a label which said that it was not to be ironed, so I hung it up and steamed it with the iron. Feeling confident with the iron so far, I did allow the iron to touch the dress and it came out really well with no creases!
All I can say about this iron is that it’s a life changer and I would now feel confident to iron anything with it.

Wow - This iron does EXACTLY what you'd want it to.The Philips PerfectCare PowerLife Steam Iron has been a revelation for me; someone who doesn’t particularly enjoy ironing but who cares about the quality of the technology they’re purchasing and in making life easier. The first thing you notice is the cord; it’s made from thick sturdy material and is more than long enough to use across the room or with a tall ironing board – my previous iron’s cord was far too short.
Once you turn it on the next thing you notice is how quickly it heats up. It’s a 2400W iron and it saves a lot of time. I love the fact it has an auto temperature function because I need my iron to be ready to go. It boasts exclusive ‘SteamGlide soleplate’ technology which in laymen’s terms means, it doesn’t stick to or scratch your clothes and it glides very smoothly. Do you need anything else at this point?
If you do - the water tank is plenty large enough and is easy to fill, it’s easy to handle because it’s lightweight and has a good shape to grip, the steam boost was plenty powerful enough and it has an auto switch off function after 8 minutes (great for forgetful people like me.)
Finally, I like things to look good and I think the black/gold version I have looks (and feels) like a quality item too. In a nutshell, all of these features combined has helped me to get through my ironing a lot quicker and easier than I have before and for that reason I won’t be looking back to any other brands for my ironing.

Really pleased with this ironBought this iron to replace another Philips iron which needed replacing. I did some research before deciding to buy this one and the main factor in purchasing was the one temperature for all fabrics feature. I've got to be honest I didn't know whether it would work as advertised but having seen mainly positive reviews I took the plunge and I have to say having just completed the first batch of ironing with it I'm glad to say that it does as it says on the tin. Ironed a variety of fabrics without any issue. I don't understand some of the comments about the blue light being too bright, some people must have really sensitive eyes for the light to be any cause for concern or they are just exaggerating but overall I have absolutely no complaints about this iron.

Good value for moneyIron is easy to use and I like the design at the edge for ironing the shirts with buttons. The fact we don't have to worry about the different types of fabrics makes it even easier to use and saves time. Overall, it does the job. The only downside is that I usually need to keep filling the water container too often when I am ironing clothes that require more steam like shirts. The water runs out very fast!

Brilliant, does what it says on the tin!Early days as we have only had this iron a few weeks but my wife is now enjoying this tiresome chore! As for me quick, simple, no dials to worry about just switch on and go. Don't forget to watch the water levels as this model seems to use slightly more than our old Philips iron.
Would definitely recommend this product and already done so.

Brilliant ironThis is the best iron that I have bought in ages. The weight is good and the flex is really long again-Hurrah! Was a bit wary like others with no temperature dial but it works really well. To top it all, it is a very nice blue colour.

Good functionality, but a few simple changes would make it betterThe things I liked:
In general the performance was great, the iron glided well over the clothes, and removed creases well.
The water spray for stubborn creases was well spread, I have used irons in the past that have had a very narrow jet, however this sprayed wide enough that it would evenly cover the target area, but didn't spray unnecessary.
Not having to set a temperature worked well, as I (and probably most other people too) iron everything with the same heat setting anyway, the removal of the temperature control removes the risk of knocking the dial and turning the temperature all the way up or down.
Things I didn't like:
There's no built in cable store/clip, the shape of the iron means you can wrap the cable around the base, however in order for this to be most useful, a clip on the wire at the plug end, in order to allow you to clip this to the rest of the coiled wire would make storage easier, as it won't unravel.
There's no filling jug included. Although the opening for the water fill was quite large, I still found it a lot easier to prevent spills by using a jug.
The iron felt heavier than others I've used, and therefore fatigue occurred earlier. This is the first iron I've ever used that I actually thought "this is actually fairly heavy, so I'm glad I don't have to use it for too long"

Brilliant iron to haveI like the iron I bought for the family. It's very good quality and feels great to iron with. I'm very happy with my order and will recommend it to every one
