Newer, not better. This is my 3rd Philips epilator and I stick to brand since very beginning (bought Braun once as well, but got rid of it immediately).
My 2nd died recently - served excellently for 12 years! - thus I looked for new one. I find new ones quite pricey (with maybe lot of unnecessary attachments) or too simple.
Decided for this one and am bit disappointed. The performance is worse than with my old one, it doesn't pick up all the hair on the way, one needs to go back to the same spot repeatedly and many times. It is less painful though.
The power button could have been on side or somewhere else, not in the middle where your thumb will naturally end up.
I also miss the option to plug it and use it, to not have to wait for battery getting charged.
The great part is shaving head, originally didn't care about it at all, but tried and am pleased.

Waste of time and moneyI got this epilator a few years ago and hated it from day 1.
First of all, the battery dies before you finish the first leg. Secondly, it barely picks any hair and the whole epilating process takes ages so you are left with half a calf to do and need to re-charge it. Third, after struggling to get any longer hair it won't pick any slightly smaller ones at all and will always leave your legs feeling sharp and horrible. After epilation the skin is really irritated as well. After 5 years now, I had to get a new epilator because this one stopped picking almost any hair at all and battery starts dying after like 10 minutes.
Adding to it, it is quite heavy and uncomfortable to hold.
Considering how expensive it was, the quality is terribly poor unfortunately.

Poor battery staminaThis product essentially does what it says on the box. My issue is the poor battery performance after mains charging. Just to epilate my lower legs takes all day, 1 charge allows 1/4 of my lower leg to be hair free then you have to sit around and wait for the unit to recharge to do another 1/4. POOR BATTERY CHARGE LIFE!!!! Wish it worked from the mains instead, don't see a use for using it wet! Should have an option for a dry epilate straight from mains power as it currently makes being hair free a time consuming laborious process, constantly putting the unit on charge. Hoping it breaks before the year warranty runs out so I can chose a different one that runs off the mains.

Easy to use and very effectiveThis is a great Philips product and a really good alternative to shaving - the resulting smooth effect lasts for a good couple of weeks and if you do find any hairs creeping back, you can just run over them with the epilator. Like waxing, the hairs get thinner each time you epilate but you don't need to wait for your next appointment, you can just remove the hairs as and when they come in the comfort of your own home. It is painful, but no worse than waxing.

Generally pleased with ths epilator but need more instructionsThis is the third epilator I have owned and it works well. I would appreciate better instructions as the Quick Start Guide is only that. I feel there should be more information on the heads and attachments and their use.

Good for my first epilatorThe online instructions say that it has two settings, but it is not clear at all on the product. I thought the epilator had taken all my hair off but this morning I saw it had not. The instructions are ok as a quickstart but it would be better to have full instructions. There are two accessories that I have no idea about and are not explained anywhere. This is my first epilator and it didn't hurt at all on the legs, and only stung a little on the armpits. Battery life seems a little short but otherwise ok for a first timer like me.

confusing instructionafter using a few times, i still got redness after using the epilator...not sure if I use the product correctly since the instruction is a bit vague. Does remove my hair after I go back and forth several times. It is my first epilator so I am surprised with how much it hurts. Going to try using it more often to see if the redness will gradually reduces and hopefully it is worth the money.
