Playing internet radio stations not intuitive but otherwise a good productI bought his product in April 2009 in order to have music and radio in my shower. It has worked well except that guests find it difficult to find particular radio stations.
I chose it for several reasons
1 it is low voltage and, so long as you mount the power supply and amplifier outside the bathroom, you can install it safely there and control it safely with the remote - it is very effective with good speakers in the ceiling
2 It does not require its own server running its own propriatery softwate but works with music held on my windows PC
3 My wife fears that wifi is bad for us all and thus wont have it in the house - that eliminates most of the main competitors for this product as it will access the internet through a wired network only if set up that way - the rest won't do this
I particularly like the facility to update favorite radio stations from my PC through the philips server.
Overall this is a not expensive good internet music player with wide compatibility

Good enoughI am a long time user and I like this product although it has a couple of quirks. The most annoying one is the clock which does not follow daylight saving changes. So every time you need to to readjust it manually. The other one is that it hangs from time to time, not often, about once a month, so that is not a huge problem. Also the menu system is a bit too deep at places, for example, I do not see the reason to select "Music" when music is all there is. Otherwise, the sound is good and online setting is friendly enough.

Excellent internet radio tuner.Add this to your hifi or self-powered pc speakers and open the door to thousands of radio stations from all around the world. Large display with clock(when in standby),compact modern design and remote control make this a good choice. Easy to set up once you have programmed your router passcode...can be connected direct with modem or wireless and will play music files on your computer. I have never had any problems with operation(i have bought 2 0f these at bargain prices) and a bonus not found on many other internet radios is display of track/artist. Connections are by phono plugs so you can use high quality interconnect leads. Headphones can be plugged straight into the unit for late nite listening. Nothing else to say really(or you may think i work for Phillips)! If you get a chance, buy one...you wont regret it!

Good product needs speakersThe Streamium is a good product however it falls short of the mark because a device of this value should be able to go above and beyond. This would be achieved simply by in built speakers (low quality) and enabling the device to take batteries making it portable however most people do have smart phones now. If at the order stage the user could select the colour they wanted this would add value to the product. otherwise great little streaming radio!

Wonderfully Easy to Setup and UseI am fairly happy with this product, no problems setting it up, but after a while, it wouldn't work with my windows 7 computer, when I re-loaded windows 7, it worked for a while, but then stopped and said it couldn't find any UPnP servers. However, the Internet Radio Service is fantastic! Impressed.

Nice looking but let down on features & updatesI have had this product for a number of years, it looks & sounds great but is very slow to use, i.e. navigate through the menus.
It could do with the software having a few tweaks, but I have never had a software updated, although I have tried.
Searching for tracks is particularly annoying.

The Display is big and clearIn all honesty I have had problems connecting to my wireless, but this I am sure is down to my ineptitude towards wifi set up, rather than the product itself. So it has become a large display clock for our lounge which still looks good due to it's modern contemporary styling.

Neat little box, display a bit clunkyNicely plays back all my media without any issues and once powered on can be controlled via a DLNA Controller (eg my Android mobile phone) which makes the unit easier to use as scrolling around using the display can be a bit slow and clunky.
