Could get a closer shave with a butter knifeHave to finish off the shave with a blade, no way does this provide a close shave.
Battery life is very poor, the '+' button speeds the razor up slightly, but still not what I was expecting

Very good value for money shaverThis is a very good value for money shaver that is very easy to keep clean, has a short charge time and long battery life I would certainly recommend this product.

A well-built budget shaver that i would happily use and recommend. The shaver has a more expensive look to it than what was expected for its price. I feel that this made me want to use the device as the look of it made me trust that it wouldn't cut my face.
Moving onto the shave, a dry shave proved to be very quick, taking approximately 5-10 mins in total to finish. However, i did often have to go over the same positions i had shaved - as a budget device this is something i would happily live with though.
I haven't cut my face at all using this device, nor have i received any rash from the shaver.
I have found that i need to charge the device maybe once every two weeks for a shave of 2-3 times per week (so around 6 times per week). This hasn't been an issue for me as i'll often just plug it in when i go to university and then when i get back its fully charged.
The trimmer was a bit of a disappointment. Upon using it i didn't find it to cut quite as close to my face as i wanted - and so removing side-burn facial hair left a bristly feeling. This was alleviated by using the shaver and not the trimmer.
For a budget shaver i am impressed with its usability;
1. It has an expensive feel and look to it
2. As a dry shaver it allows a quick 5-10 min shave with no rash formation or nipping at the skin.
3. Charge time is normal as for any shaver and doesn't limit its performance.
4. Trimmer was a slight disappointment with not getting a trim as close to the face as i wanted.

Good product, when it worksBought this to replace a Philishave mains shaver which had given many years of good service. Was initially very pleased with the product - it gave a very good shave in quick time and was very easy to keep clean - just a rinse under a tap every few days and a more thorough clean every fortnight or so. It would easily last about 3 weeks between charges. However, after about 6 months of use, the shaver started behaving erratically, and after a further few weeks it packed up altogether. Philips customer care was very good, though, and following a web-chat with them, returned the shaver to be repaired under warranty. A few days later a new shaver unit was sent back to me. So far, the replacement has performed well. Time will tell. I hope the replacement is still covered by the warranty.

Could be BetterI bought this to replace my PT920 Philips rotary shaver on which the battery performance was decreasing after several years of excellent service. As this model seemed to be obsolete I opted for the Series 3000 as it had the same superb ergonomics and compact form for travelling.
Unfortunately the shaving performance is not as good, taking longer to shave and I often need to finish off using my old shaver to obtain a smooth feel to my face.
Plus points are a strong li-ion battery, brilliant to hold and compact. It also looks well.

Just as good as the last version.I can't speak about the longevity of the blades but I manage to get a smooth shave from this if it is a wet shave and I use a light gel and wetting again to go over one more time after rinsing the heads. Whether I am accustomed to it after having two similar models for many years or not, I find it ergonomically good to handle. I've long since stopped using the hair trimmers on any shaver and prefer a dedicated trimmer.

Fantastic shaverMy Son purchased this shaver as a Birthday present for me to replace another long serving Philips model,
I wanted another, sturdy traditional design Philips shaver and after some research settled on an S 3580/06 and I have not been disappointed, it gives a great shave, is easy to use, is robust with great battery life.
My Son was so impressed he also purchased another for his self as his shaver needed replacing.

Excellent shave, good battery lifeThis is a very pleasant shaver to use; fast and comfortable, gives a close, smooth shave, and the body fits the hand perfectly. The trimmer is convenient and accurate - very handy since I have a moustache. (I only gave 4 stars for design as I'm not keen on the red colour, but YMMV!) Battery life is very good - I get 10-14 days, shaving once most days, twice if I'm going out in the evening.
