FLAC and APE lossless codec support for precise sound quality
Enjoy digital music in a compressed format without losing any sound quality at all. GoGear supports FLAC and APE formats, which are files that have been shrunk without any details discarded. The richness and clarity of the original music source are retained for complete enjoyment wherever you are. Simply use the Philips Songbird software included with your GoGear, and drag and drop the FLAC or APE music files from your computer's music library into your GoGear. Get going with thousands of songs, and swing to the beat of the great originals.
3.2" HVGA colour display for superb video enjoyment
A sleek 8.1 cm (3.2") widescreen display on your GoGear player offers high resolution for superb video quality and crisp, vivid images. Together with a full colour menu, the large screen allows easy navigation of media files to complete the package for a sensational multimedia experience on the go. To top it all off, a native 16:9 aspect ratio means video display without bars at top and bottom of the picture and without the quality loss that comes from scaling (altering an image to fit on a different screen)
FullSound™ to bring your MP3 music to life
Philips' innovative FullSound technology faithfully restores sonic details to compressed MP3 music, dramatically enriching and enhancing it, so you can experience CD music without any distortion. Based on an audio post-processing algorithm, FullSound combines Philips' renowned expertise in music reproduction with the power of the latest generation Digital Signal Processor (DSP). The result is fuller bass with more depth and impact, boosted voice and instrument clarity, and rich detail. Rediscover your compressed MP3 music in true-to-life sound that will touch your soul and move your feet.
microSD card slot for expanded memory capacity
Small is beautiful when it comes to mobile devices, but not memory capacities. With the GoGear player, you can have the best of both worlds just by plugging in a microSD card. The microSD card will show up as a second removable drive when the player is connected to your PC for easy file transfer. Just load your card with the desired content and slot it into your player. You can purchase memory cards of up to 32 GB to expand your GoGear memory capacity, so you never have to worry about running out of entertainment choices.
FM radio with 30 presets for more music options
Digital FM radio offers you additional music options to add to your music collection on your GoGear. Simply tune into the station that you want to preset, then press and hold the preset button to memorise the frequency. You can preset up to 30 radio stations and enjoy your favourite programmes whenever you go.
Enjoy up to 20 hours of music or 4 hours of video playback
Philips offers you boundless entertainment. Your GoGEAR MP4 video player comes with a compact built-in rechargeable battery for long-lasting power. Enjoy up to 20 hours of music, or 4 hours of video playback on a single charge. Just plug the power cable in to recharge the player—it's that simple.
Touch-screen control for smooth and intuitive navigation
Feel the smooth and intuitive control of your GoGear portable player with the soft touch of your fingertips. Its intuitive touch-screen interface makes navigation a real breeze, whether you are controlling music playback functions, browsing your video and picture collections or choosing radio channels. Just click directly on the player's screen to navigate swiftly through menus and flip through your folders. Now that's what we call sensible and simple.
Surround for movies to put you in the middle of the action
Surround for movies is an advanced audio technology that directly analyses each sound source in a movie or video soundtrack to recreate a natural soundstage with sound elements that are individually and precisely localised. The processed sound elements are then directly delivered to each ear via in-ear headphones. Surround for movies generates a natural acoustical space based on the actual content of the soundtrack. The result puts the listener right in the middle of the action for an immersive surround experience - just as the film's sound engineer had intended.
