Sustainable radiology: from aspiration to action

As the pressures of an accelerating climate crisis place new demands on all of us, it’s important to understand both the factors that make healthcare (particularly radiology) a significant contributor to global CO₂ emissions and the means at our disposal to effect change.

In this session, facilitated by Jeff DiLullo, we will share results from early research into these contributing factors and levers, focusing on what we have learned to date, as well as avenues for continued investigation. With an emphasis on building a community of action, our expert panel will explore how we can combine sustainable practices with progress against other pressing healthcare challenges to improve patient care while being better stewards of our resources and planet.

Artificial intelligence (AI) continues to be a central focus of addressing the future of radiology, patient care and healthcare system operations. Every day new AI-enabled technologies and solutions emerge to address these challenges, and we are already seeing the effect they are having on the practice of radiology.

In this panel discussion, facilitated by Shez Partovi, Madhuri Sebastian, Business Leader Radiology Informatics at Philips, we will discuss the top trends in AI that are already providing high clinical impact today as well the importance of ethical, responsible, and sustainable AI to support patient care and clinical practice in the future.
