The London Cardiac CT Academy is a premier Cardiac CT course for those seeking elementary and advanced training in all aspects of Cardiac CT. The course has been carefully designed around the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography’s curriculum. It also meets all stipulated requirements for Level II accreditation in Cardiac CT. With an emphasis on the delivery of high-quality education, innovative learning techniques and an aspiration to offer a definitive course in Cardiac CT, it has assembled an experienced international faculty of Cardiac CT experts with cardiology and radiology expertise. The faculty holds Level III accreditation and “Fellowship” status with the SCCT and brings to the course an international reputation and a combined academic expertise of in excess of 200 peer reviewed publications. Our ultimate aim is quality and to provide a personal touch to the course.

Each participant will have their own workstation. An international faculty of renowned experts is present throughout the course, to teach and provide mentored case reviews.

The objectives are:

  • To offer background information about the scanner physics, contrast dynamics, acquisition methods, administration of medication to enhance image quality and know how to report a case.
  • To get familiar with the software and interpretation of images by using a systematic way of reviewing, and detect coronary stenosis and plaque.
  • To detect artefacts and pitfalls, correlate CTA to angiography, and detect extra cardiac abnormalities.
  • To offer advanced information about scanner settings with the goal to enhance image quality and reduce radiation burden.
  • To complete 150 selected cases in order to provide material for level 2 certification from the SCCT.

The academy includes all daytime meals and refreshments, a drinks reception, a course dinner and all course materials and after course support. In addition the course provides all the paperwork that is signed and completed - ready for accreditation with the SCCT. Our course CT library exceeds 600 specifically selected cases that include exceptionally rare cases not available on other courses.
