Introduction and scope

This Supplementary Notice explains how Philips processes information and personal data when you use the Philips EC Professional - Support App V1.0 (the “App”).

Data controller


The data controller of your data is Koninklijke Philips, N.V. or its subsidiaries (“Philips”).

Why we process your data


Subject to your choices, we process your personal data for the following purposes:
 
  • Providing personalized services. We want to allow you to securely login to the app and provide you with a personalized experience based on your account details.
     

-    Managing your account. We process your account credentials and profile details to allow you to securely login to the app and provide you with our services.
-    Providing a personalized experience. We process your personal data to give you a customized app experience. We do so by:

-    Sending you push notifications and/or in-app messages in connection with our services.
 

  • Improving our apps and services. We want to improve the app and develop new features and solutions for you based on how you interact with us and use the app.
     

-    Based your app usage data. If you provide consent, you will help us improve the app based on the data we observe and collect when you use our services. Subject to your choices, we may also use your data to further personalize your app experience. We do so by:

-    Assessing how you use the app and how the app performs on your mobile device, including when the app crashes to identify and fix issues.
-    Evaluating how the app is accessed and used and directly link you to specific app sections.
-    Interacting with you to obtain your feedback, supporting you when required, and sending you service-related communications.
 

-    Based on your ratings and reviews. If you write a review or rate the app on the app stores, we may process such information to respond to your comments and questions, understand how you feel when using the app, get familiar with your general perception of the app and our brand, and use these insights to improve the app. We can only see your app store username, ratings, comments and any other detail you decide to share with us or make publicly available. Unless you require us to do so, we do not link this information to your account credentials or any other information we hold from you. Where you require customer support, we may use your data to follow-up on your case and guide you through our customer support process.
 

  • Allowing you to share your data with third parties. We want to allow you to share your data with companies that you trust and with some of our business partners.
     

-    Amazon Services. In all countries, we support our app services and educational content for the App. When you login, the app login credentials, and the user’s preferences (for example, history and favorites) are shared with Amazon’s Service for storage/hosting. Please read Amazon’s Terms and Conditions and Privacy Notice.
-    Google data centre. In all countries, we support the Firebase Push Notification through Google Data centers.

What data we process


The categories of personal data we process include:
 
  • Providing you personalized services. We do so by sending you push notifications and/or in-app messages in connection with our services. We process such information to provide our services based on our terms as mentioned
     

-    When creating, on-boarding users into the app and for managing your account, the data we process include your account credentials and profile information, such as name, email address, country, password, as well as your session, login and authentication information.
-    When providing a personalized experience, the data we process depending on your notification choices, the App processes the following information: App Version, Installation Identifier, Device Metadata (Operating System version, name, model and brand), the app that was used to install your app (such as Play Store), and your notification settings choices.
-    When providing multi-device support and customize app content based on the user’s preference, the data we process include profile, country, consent, uuid, favourites and history.
-    When providing Firebase Push Notification service to determine which device to deliver message to, the data we process includes FCM firebase installation id, app version, device metadata (OS version, name, model, brand).
 

  • Improving our apps and services
     

-    When improving our apps and services based your app usage data, the data we process include your mobile device identifiers, session and usage data, operating system, model, carrier, network information and (masked) IP addresses, and app information, such as app name, version, usage and events, and connected device data.
-    When improving our apps and services based on your ratings and reviews, the data we process include your app store username and profile, ratings, reviews, comments and questions.

Lawful basis for processing


The lawful bases we rely on to process your personal data are as follows:
 

  • Providing you personalized services. We process your personal data based on your consent
  • Improving our apps and services. We process your personal data based on your explicit consent. Where no special categories of data are involved, we may rely on our legitimate interests. Our legitimate interests involve improving our services and developing new solutions for society and for you in the personal health domain. We always verify that our legitimate interests do not outweigh your privacy rights and interests.

When required to provide our services and subject to this notice, we may use cookies, tags pixels or similar technologies and collect information from your mobile device (together, “Cookies”).
 

  • We use functional Cookies for security, authentication, session management and service-related purposes. These cookies help us verify your identity, protect your account and provide our services.
  • When essential to provide our services, such as when providing content in your local language, we process information from your mobile device including unique identifiers, IP address, type of mobile internet browser, operating system, SIM card carrier information, session and usage data, or service-related performance data.
