Interoperability platform

In any healthcare environment, seamless access to data and efficient workflow is critical. It is put to the test by technological innovations and the ever-increasing need for cross-disciplinary collaboration between physicians. Complete and reliable exchange of information is the challenge. The Philips Forcare Interoperability platform allows systems, departments and stakeholders to communicate with each other and exchange data. By flawlessly linking information from different sources. Files, results, images: all data is brought together. Fast and safe.

IHE product suite

Based on IHE (Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise) global standards, the Philips Forcare Interoperability platform offers an efficient, future-proof answer to today’s interoperability issues. Open, established standards, such as XDS, XDW, HL7, FHIR and DICOM, mean there is no vendor lock-in, giving you more freedom and choice. Moreover, high-level security protects your sensitive data and provides peace of mind.

Open standards

Philips Forcare supports all IHE profiles which can be used by healthcare professionals to easily share patient information, enjoy collaborative workflows and connect healthcare networks. This also applies to profiles based on DICOM, HL7 and FHIR. It goes without saying that we provide IHE Integration Statements for all our products.

Cloud

Interoperability as a service - this is what Philips Forcare offers with XDS from the cloud. The exchange of patient data will be up and running without prior investments, based on international standards. The Philips Forcare cloud solution offers individual hospitals and regional exchange networks the opportunity to link data. Once you are connected, it is up to you to decide what to publish and with which other healthcare institutions and networks you intend to exchange data. This includes patient consent recording, so you will have discretion as to whom can consult your patient's details.

Workflow

The increasing specialization in healthcare and the rise in integrated care call for collaboration with colleagues inside and outside your own institution. The IHE Cross Enterprise Workflow (XDW) profile allows cooperating healthcare institutions to design and manage their patient-oriented workflows. IHE XDW facilitates interoperability by providing a joint infrastructure that allows for simple and future-proof management of new and existing workflows.

Our product suite consists of eight key components, that together form a complete modular IHE XDS infrastructure for clinical information sharing.

forIndex

Designed to simplify the care professional’s workflow by providing one interface. This allows for the discovery of all clinical information regardless of where that information is stored, internally or externally. Its sophisticated technology ensures that many tasks previously performed manually, such as the merging of patient data, can now be performed automatically by the system, simplifying your workflow processes.

forStore

Provides the ultimate, scalable and secure storage solution for all IHE XDS needs. It stores all clinical documents designated for publication and makes them available for others in a Health Information Exchange (HIE) network. Documents can be stored on any standard storage platform, making forStore the perfect solution for all storage needs.

forView

Provides the optimum tool for accessing clinical information in a Health Information Exchange. Healthcare professionals can accurately query and view clinical documents, even when the patient has been referred from another hospital where their documents are stored locally.

forConnect

Enables existing clinical information systems to be part of a Health Information Exchange network based on IHE – Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise. By allowing existing systems to participate in IHE XDS-based networks, forConnect enables publishing, viewing, and retrieving patient information within the network.

forAudit

Ensures accountability by monitoring and storing all relevant activity within a Health Information Exchange, keeping a record of who accessed what information and when. All this with the purpose of protection patient privacy.

forBridge

Makes the exchange of clinical information across communities simple without the need to change any existing clinical applications. Based on the Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) Cross-Community Access (XCA) Profile, forBridge allows practitioners to initiate queries for clinical information from another organization or community, or to respond to queries from outside the organization.

forNotify

Being notified that clinical information is available or has changed can be crucial for delivering high quality patient care. ForNotify is a IHE Document Subscriber based notification broker that will notify clinicians by email that information is waiting to be reviewed.

forAdmin

Access your Forcare XDS components for system administrative purposes for any place in your network.

Clinical workflow solutions

Patient Consent

In an ever more digital world, privacy is becoming increasingly important, and nowhere near as relevant as in healthcare. Approval for a healthcare provider to consult medical information is determined by a combination of parameters, such as the healthcare provider's role, the type of document to be consulted, and whether or not the patient has consented. The Philips Forcare Patient Consent solutions support various combinations of these parameters, including temporary consent, or access in emergency situations.
