Very happy with my Philips 43" TV. Easy to set up an use. Picture quality is better than last TV. Handset is easy to use an the off switch is a bonus. Sound quality is poor though and have had to Buy a soundbar. This I think is a problem with most TVs due to thin designs

I had to purchase a TV fairly quickly and did not really have time to fully check what was available on the Market. Regretfully I only had limited finances available. I found this TV on the ARGOS web site and generally it matched my requirements and fitted my costs. I am pleased overall with this product, however it has two big faults. Firstly the colouring is not great, the picture is too bright and "White" and for some unknown reason the controls do not allow you to adjust the colouring no matter how you try. Secondly, there is a problem with the Volume. You have to turn it right up to 80+ on the Volume scale of 100 to get a clear hearing level. I wear hearing aids so have to raise the volume, however my family members having no hearing problems and find it difficult to clearly hear anything below level 65. I have read other reviews that also mention the Volume problem. This is something that Philips need to address. Finally, the controls are not easy to follow and use Terminology that is not clear or understandable.

While I find the picture quality is excellent and functions are easy to understand. The sound quality is absolutely appalling and lets the whole product down! It's as if the muffled speaker was thrown in as an after thought. I had to purchase extension speakers! The remote button arrangement could also have had a little fore thought. Channel change and volume are by far the most used buttons and they have been put near the bottom of the remote meaning that with large hands you have to use both hands to operate the remote...

Pictures a 6/10 speakers are trash, if you have separate surround sound and find this in a sale go for it. Also vga is a lie you need a hdmi adapter.

Bought as a replacement for the TV I had previously, in which the back lighting died. Having spent a few months comparing other brands, I decided on the Philips as it was similar in connectivity (except SCART) and price. Setting up this TV was awkward to say the least, the connections for HDMI and TV aerial are under the TV. If you have the TV on a stand like I do, you'll need to twist yourself to see the where connections are. Not having any "smart" capacity, I utterly fail to see why this TV needs an Ethernet port. Once I had connected my devices and ran through the set up, I immediately ran into problems. The menus are clunky, awkward and doesn't actually let you change many settings and most of the settings don't even work (change anything). There is NO Game Mode setting to disable any image processing - although on "Standard" I don't seem to be having many lag issues. The sound quality is ATROCIOUS. I have always used the 1.5mm audio jack on previous TVs to connect to my sound system, and it has always sounded great. On this TV the sound is DULL and MUFFLED. None of the TVs sound settings make it any clearer. In fact, the only "settings" you can change is the Treble and Bass, which is akin to a faulty tone dial on a basic stereo. I get a better sound quality through my PS4 controller. Very disappointed, considering replacement already, owned less than a week.
