County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust and Philips Agree 14 Year Partnership to unlock potential in radiology and cardiology

Agreement will see Philips support four care delivery sites across County Durham and Darlington
Guildford, the UK – Royal Philips (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHIA) a globally leading health technology company has announced the contract signing for a 14 year managed service agreement with County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust. This partnership will help ensure the Trust offers leading edge services in imaging and cardiology across four sites. Using advanced technologies as the basis for service transformation, this partnership will support staff to deliver care that provides the best in both patient outcomes and experiences, as well as user experience and system efficiencies.
Following an extensive procurement and negotiation process over the last 18 months, Philips and the Trust collaborated closely to develop a strategic direction and ensure the managed service contract design supports the delivery of key priorities: best health outcomes for patients, best patient experience, best employer and best efficiency. During the initial set up phase of the managed service partnership, Philips and the Trust agreed joint targets to help monitor progress against those key areas. After award of preferred supplier status, Philips facilitated a deep-dive and stakeholder engagement through the Philips signature Co-create process to ratify the needs of the service now and for the foreseeable future.
Four sites to benefit from long-term access to innovations that evolve service provision

Having recently agreed an 11 year partnership with Wye Valley NHS Trust to develop their radiology services, this is an addition to the growing portfolio of strategic partnerships between Philips and the NHS.”
This agreement with County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust is scheduled to see on-site activities and technology installations commence from this month (November 2018). In the first three months of the agreement 12 new ultrasound systems will be provided to the Trust.
