    Press release

Farnborough, United Kingdom – Royal Philips (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHIA), and Banco Santander today announced the six winners of Santander X Global Challenge | Reimagine Silver Age, an international initiative that over several months has sought the most innovative startups and scaleups that offer solutions to address the challenges of ageing and to promote healthier, more active and more independent lives for older adults.

Santander X Global Challenge winners with Philips

The challenge, promoted by Santander alongside Philips and the Oxentia Foundation, attracted nearly 500 proposals from 11 countries. A panel of experts selected three startups and three scaleups as winners, who will receive a share of €120,000 in prizes — €30,000 for each scaleup and €10,000 for each startup — as well as joining the Santander X 100 global community, which connects the most outstanding ventures and companies within the Santander X ecosystem.

The announcement of the winners took place at Philips’ headquarters in Amsterdam, with the participation of Peter Huber, Global Insurance CEO at Banco Santander; Ana Alemán, Global Director of Santander X and Miguel de Foronda, CEO of Philips Ibérica.

    Winning startups:

    • Health Intelligence Solutions (Chile): A home-based sleep diagnosis system with automated clinical intelligence and advanced oximetry, which simplifies the detection and treatment of sleep disorders.
    • Point Pressure (Spain): A portable mechanical neuromodulation device, customizable via an app, which enhances mobility after a stroke and helps reduce falls and dependency.
    • Ellyfe (United Kingdom): A smart bracelet that monitors hydration in older adults and alerts caregivers to prevent dehydration.

MySense (United Kingdom) received an honourable mention for its solution that helps older adults maintain independence through connected sensors and behavioural analysis to detect early health risks.

    Winning scaleups:

    • CarePredict (USA): A smart wristband using artificial intelligence to analyse daily patterns and anticipate falls and urinary tract infections, reducing unnecessary hospitalizations.
    • Robopedics (Spain): An ultra-lightweight robotic system that helps people with stroke-related impairments regain mobility and walk more independently.
    • Elevvo (Spain): An AI-based home therapy that combines auditory stimulation and neurofeedback to slow cognitive decline and improve quality of life.

Altum Sequencing (Spain) received an honourable mention for its liquid biopsy and AI solutions that detect cancer relapses at very early stages.
