For the GQ Grooming Awards 2018, we found the perfect partner in Philips, whose products give you the flexibility to self-style in ways that fit you best. Here then, we present three films showcasing multi-talented individuals starting as they mean to go on – feeling fresh, looking great.

Ben Foden, rugby union fullback/scrum-half for Northampton Saints and England, has been blazing trails on and off the field for 13 years. With more than his 200 caps, he often finds himself away from home. He has recently been modelling for Next Model Management and, in September, the one-time Pop Idol auditionee showed off an impressive set of pipes singing on Sky One's A League Of Their Own. With all that going on, minutes are precious, so he uses the Philips 11-in-1 grooming kit, which enables him to trim facial and chest hair with just one tool, giving him the time and confidence he needs to tackle everything.
Sam O’Shaughnessy is GQ’s Creative Solutions Director, but is also an impressive amateur boxer, training at Anthony Joshua’s BXR gym. He is currently preparing for a November fight; his days, needless to say, are packed, but his pre-office hours are vital. “Going to the gym in the morning helps prepare me for the day ahead and feel great about myself,” he says. With such a stringent timetable, Sam uses the Philips Vacuum Beard Trimmer, as the integrated vacuum system captures up to 90 per cent of cut hair, meaning he can use it anywhere and leave barely any mess, ready for the day and ready for the fight.
Bluey Robinson is a true soul sensation. He teamed up with producer/cowriter Labrinth for the infectious 2011 hit "Showgirl" and the same year supported Justin Bieber on his European tour. He is currently playlisted on 1Extra with his collective, The Fedz, and always looks sharp. “Style is really important to me… I want to look my best whenever I go out,” he tells GQ, emphasising the importance of “finishing touches”. As such, he uses the Philips Smart Shaver, “to minimise irritation and personalise my shave. It always makes me feel confident and ready for the day ahead,” he says.
