What are the benefits of using Philips Zoom Whitening Gel?

    Published on 2021-12-21
    Is teeth whitening safe?
Yes. Clinical studies have shown that whitening your teeth with carbamide or hydrogen peroxide under the supervision of a dental professional is safe for teeth and gums. Zoom DayWhite and NiteWhite tooth whitening gels are formulated with fluoride and ACP to help deliver superior enamel protection throughout the whitening process.

Will whitening weaken or damage my teeth?
No. Whitening will not damage or weaken your teeth. DayWhite and NiteWhite take-home whitening includes fluoride, amorphous calcium phosphate (ACP) and potassium nitrate. Fluoride and ACP have been shown to help strengthen and protect enamel, while potassium nitrate helps to reduce tooth sensitivity. Together, they help maintain the heath of your teeth.

Users with unusually sensitive teeth can use a sensitivity-prevention toothpaste every day for two weeks prior to starting their whitening treatment.

When will I see noticeably whiter teeth?
Teeth can be noticeably whiter with Zoom DayWhite and NiteWhite take-home in one to two weeks, depending on your individual circumstances and the customised solution your dentist recommends.

How is it different from other whitening treatments?
Zoom DayWhite and NiteWhite are uniquely formulated with special ingredients to produce brilliant results while reducing sensitivity, delivering superior enamel protection, and helping to improve the lustre of the teeth. This Power of Three helps to maintain the health of the teeth.

    Are there any side effects?
The most common side effect for any whitening experience is temporary tooth and gum sensitivity. Your dentist is your best resource to make sure you're a good candidate for whitening and that you are using the right formula. Zoom DayWhite and NiteWhite formulas are specially developed to help reduce sensitivity and provide additional comfort during the whitening process.

Will the gel make my teeth sensitive?
Philips Zoom DayWhite and NiteWhite are the only professional take‑home whitening formulas with ACP (amorphous calcium phosphate), fluoride and potassium nitrate to reduce sensitivity.

Does the gel need to be refrigerated?
Zoom DayWhite and NiteWhite do not require refrigeration and have a longer shelf life because of the way our gels are formulated. The proprietary formulations have been created to remain stable for longer periods of time without the need for refrigeration. DayWhite has an 18-month shelf life and NiteWhite has a 24-month shelf life.

How do I store my whitening gel properly?
    Storage:
Product effectiveness is reduced one month after opening.
Avoid exposure to sunlight or heat.
Store at controlled room temperature 15˚C–25˚C (59˚F–77˚F). Do not refrigerate or freeze

My gums turned a little white after teeth whitening. Is this normal?
This happens if you put too much whitening gel in the whitening trays. It will only last for a few minutes. You only need 0.4ml of gel or less per whitening tray. The syringe has dosage indicator lines. There are six doses of 0.4ml per syringe.

    Instructions for use

    Whitening Instructions:
    1) Floss and brush your teeth.
Make sure that the bleaching trays are clean and dry before applying the whitening gel.
    2) Twist off the clear plastic cap from the syringe and replace it with the mixing nozzle.
    2) Place a small "teardrop" amount of gel in each tooth compartment in the tray. Too much gel will spread up to the gum line, which can irritate your gums.
    3) Insert the whitening tray into your mouth over your teeth. If the gel seeps over the brim of the tray onto your gums, wipe away any excess gel with a tissue.

Make sure that the tray is seated properly.  You may see "bubbling" within your trays while you are wearing them. This bubbling is actually part of the whitening process.

    4) Depending on the type of gel, follow the wear times specified below:

DayWhite 6% HP = Wear for 30-90 min. once a day
DayWhite 9.5% HP = Wear for 30-60 min. once a day
DayWhite 14% HP = Wear for 30 min. once a day
NiteWhite 10% CP = Wear for 2-4 hours once a day or overnight
NiteWhite 16% CP = Wear for 2-4 hours once a day or overnight
NiteWhite 22% CP = Wear for 2-4 hours once a day or overnight

    5) After whitening, remove and rinse the trays with cold water. Hot water may damage the trays.  If necessary, use a toothbrush to remove any residual gel. Place the trays in the storage case, and store them in a cool, dry place. Rinse and brush excess gel from your teeth.

Do I need a custom whitening tray or can I use my aligner tray?

Clear aligners are designed to straighten your teeth, which means they have a very snug fit. Teeth whitening trays created by your dentist are contoured to fit your teeth, but still have a little "give" or space which allows the bleaching gel enough movement to prevent overflow in the mouth. If you use teeth whitening gel in your clear aligner, most, if not all, of the gel will be pushed out of the tray and into your mouth thus wasting the gel and causing irritation to the tissues in your mouth.
